Acer 5002 laptop shutoff randomly

I have acer aspire 5002.It shuts off randomly at any moment.Not necessary that it shutts off on high load.But during installation it shutt off frequently and the condition is that i am not able to install windows xp on my laptop

any suggestions?

need to clean cpu fan including thermal module. strongly suspect layer of dust between thermal module and fan causing overheats and unit turn off intermittntly.

Have your DVD Rom checked..I had a similar problem XP not loadin... It was because of compatibility of the rom... like wise it could be a mother board problem..
have it checked up by an acer service person
