The top Right rear burner will not light even after cleaning the little hole. I can see that it does not spark. If I need a new igniter, then how do I change it?? So in other words, how do I get the top off to gain access to it?

Will have to ask some basic questions first.  How old is the stove?  What is the entire model # from the sticker on the unit?  Is this LP or natural gas?  Also, make sure that the orifices in the center of the burners are clean (can use a safety pin or paper clip to poke them a few times to clean).  Make sure that the black caps are on top of the burners and seated properly or they will not lite.  Let me know what you find.

SOURCE: Gas stove with electric ignition (oven stopped working)

the electric ignition is bad and needs replaced in oven. I had the same problem a few months ago and it was the ignitor for the oven. if replacing it yourself, be very careful with ignitor, it is very fragil. do not touch ignitor itself, hold on to it by the base of it. they are not that hard to change.

SOURCE: none of my stove top burners will spark to ignite

There is an ignition module that sparks when it calls for lighting. This module could have a loose connection or be dead.

Have a Kenmore Elite Dual Fuel gas stove 2 burners light yet the other ones click and have to light by hand what can I do? is is put together wrong? what can my friend check on it

Check that the burners are clean. There is a small hole near where the spark electrode is and it often blocks. That hole directs a small jet of gas at the igniter electrode. Make sure the aluminum bezel below the burner is clean as it is part for the electrical circuit. Make sure the spark electrode hasn't moved away from the burner. Make sure the electrode wire is attached.

You say it says propane, but it is on natural gas. I hope the jets conversion was done :>) It is a mighty fine stove, I am a chef!

Can the cooktop surface of my Kenmore gas range model 790.72903011 be removed

Most stove tops are removable for that very purpose.... after you remove the burners and the grills above the burners.... look for an edge and inch or inch and a half below the top... get something strong like a large screwdriver and place cloth over the tip to prevent scratching the stove top. there are VERY STRONG CLIPS holding the stove top to the stove, pry upward until the clips release. then slowly remove the spark igniter (TAKE A PICTURE WITH YOUR CELL TO REMEMBER HOW PUT BACK TOGETHER)

JGBS20BEW2AD, the stove top four cooking burner constantly clicks.

The igniter switch(s) has most likely failed shorted. Fairly common with gas ranges with spark ignition.

The electric panel on my smooth top stove just went out with a popping sound rendering the oven unusable but the stove top burners are working.............what could have happened and is it worth it to get...

Electric gas igniters sometimes get stuck in one position causing a clicking sound. The clicking sound that you hear is the electric arc that is pulsing from the igniter conductor (wire) to ground (the gas burner). It receives power from the electrical outlet that the stove is plugged into.
Residue from food and sometimes cleaning products may be preventing the igniter from producing a spark (Arc) to the base of the burner. This is a common problem that occurs when the stove has been cleaned or food is allowed to build up. Make sure that the igniter and the burner base are clean and dry. This will help with proper operation. Oven cleaner and a small tooth brush may be used to accomplish this. Another problem with ignition may occur if you have too little (touching) or too much space between the igniter and the base of the burner; it will prevent the burner from igniting. You should only have a little more space than the thickness of a nickel between the burner base and the igniter. A good "blue" arc from the igniter to the burner base is optimal. If this doesn’t work, you may need to replace the electric igniter module. Good luck.

I have a kenmore stove 362.7361193 pilot not on

There isn't a pilot light on MOST modern gas ranges. The top burners are controlled by individual igniters through a common spark module. The oven, however, is controlled by an igniter on each manifold. One for bake, one for broil. If you are having problems with ONE of the oven features, I would suspect a bad igniter. If BOTH oven features are bad, you may have a bad Electronic Oven Control (EOC) board. If the oven works, but none of the surface burners are working, I would suspect a bad spark module. The following link explains a little theory on oven igniters:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r401858-replacing_oven_igniter_gas_range

Since your range appears to have a common gas safety valve and regulator, all burners are fed fromthe same gas source. Which means, if you have ANY burners lighting, you probably don't have a gas problem.

I hope you can determine what your problem is from the information I provided. If not, please post back and elaborate a bit more on your symptoms so that I may assist you better. I hope this helps you.

I have a used kenmore propane gas stove that i just bought from someone. We have hooked it up but can only get the oven to come on. The stove top burners will not come on. We we turn on the burners we do...

In the old days stoves were lit with a match. If this does not work for you it would be due to the stove's lines remaining "airlogged" after the move. The oven purged and ignited more easily because it has a much larger orifice, so the air bled more quickly. I expect if you were to leave one burner turned on long enough for the air to bleed out you will find it to ignite normally. Do not leave the stove to bleed unattended, and if you encounter a strong smell of the gas, turn off the burner, and ventilate the room as needed. The smell of gas would indicate that gas is present, it may be possible that a lead came disconnected from the ignition module in the back of the stove. Again if this is the case, the ol' match will light the burner. Be Careful!
