Question about Tuscany TGR30 Grill

1 Answer

Low gas pressure about half the time I use it.

I've got a Costco Tuscany grill and about 50%of the time when I start it the pressure is really low even on just one of the three burners. I've tried new bottles and same thing. I've also replaced the burner assy and regulator with no change. None of the hoses are kinked either. Any help would be great.

The Tuscany Gas Grill line was manufactured by Sure Heat. I'm not sure that the parts your need are replaceable, as they are considered as part of the grill's body. However, you can call their Customer Support Dept @ 800-229-5647, to see if they can help you.

I have a Vermont Casting VM450SSP Grill that needs a new Hose Regulator-S/B Valve Assembly. I have ordered two separate times what "Appliance Factory Parts" thinks is the part I need and both...

This ma=y be a case of changes in parts for your VC Grill. The ownership of Vermont Castings changed 6 years ago, when Majestic Fireplace, who was then the owner went bankrupt and Monesson Hearth products bought VC in the bankruptcy. Shortly there after, Monesson made some sweeping changes to the grill line (your model was discontinued) and really up graded what Majestic Fireplace had done with that line of grills. Overall, they started building a better quality grill.

Unless you have a piped in high pressure propane gas system, the one that Appliance Factory Parts furnished you should work fine (based on what I saw on their website). In addition, if you purchased your grill, prior to the change in 20lb LP Gas Grill Tanks Valves, 6 years ago. Some manufacturers changed their grill hoses to conform with the new OPD Valve grill tanks. It wasn't required, they just did it, to avoid regulators locking up, when the tank valve is opened to fast.

Hope this helped answer and solve the problem for you. Happy Grilling!!

Low flame at burner. I've put a new tank on my grill and now the flame stays very low on all burners. I've heard that there can be some pressure problems with a newly filled tank. Is there a quick...

Mike, there can be some pressure problems, but it's not the new tank. However, it does cause the problem and here's how you resolve it.

1. Turn the gas tank valve OFF.
2. Disconnect the hose from the tank and wait 5 minutes.
3. Reconnect the hose to the tank and turn the tank valve ON VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow).
4. Once the valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from the tank first and turn the burn to HIGH.
Does the burner light and the flame height look correct? If so, light the remaining burners the same
way. Now, do all the burner flames look as the should? If co, you solved the problem. Always
remember to turn the tank valve ON very, very slowly>

If the above did not solve the problem, you will need to replace the grill's Hose/Regulator Assembly. You can pick one up at any home center or hardware store that sells gas grills and accessories. It will run you about $30.00 (+/-) .

Hope this helped you to solve the problem Please let me know & Happy Grilling!!

I own a "Q"120. There is very little gas running

"The thing on the side that says start and off is really loose" are you referring to the ignitor button? Please advise.

As far as the low gas pressure is concerned ... You may simply be running out of gas in the grill tank or if you're sure you have plenty of gas in the tank, the grill's regulator may simply be locked up. However, there is a way to solve the problem, without taking it somewhere.

First, turn the grill tank valve OFF, by turning the knob clockwise, until it stops. Disconnect the grill hose from the tank and wait 5 minutes. Then, reconnect the hose to the tank and turn the tank valve ON VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow). Once the valve is fully open, light a grill burner and turn the flame to the highest setting. Has the flame height returned to normal? If so, light any of the remaining burners the same way. If all the flame heights have returned to normal, you've solved the problem.

If the above didn't solve the gas pressure problem, the grill's burners, venturi valves and/or burner orifices may need to be cleaned. In addition, the grill's hose/regulator assembly may need to be replaced. This can be purchased from any home center or hardware store that sells gas grills and accessories.

Has far some place where you can take it for repair is concerned ... not knowing what area you live in, makes it impossible to recommend a repair place, in the event that there is one.

Hope this helped you troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know.

Gas not coming out enough; flame not catching on to other burners

Problem: Low flames on grill, tank is full.

Cause: These newer tanks have a device inside that limits the flow of gas to prevent leaking or accidental discharge of gas from the cylinder. The leak detector mechanism inside the tank shuts off the gas whenever the valve is opened rapidly.

Solution:
Close the tank valve and remove the tank. Check the gas line for ANY object that could cause blockage. Open all valves on the grill to eliminate any pressure whatsoever. Close all valves and reattach tank. SLOWLY open the tank not over 2 turns. Check for leaks. I just open my tank a tiny bit but that is just me.

This late model gas grill service manual has more details on page 13.

There is a high pitch that people over approx age 30 cannot detect. My son and daughter complained of a high pitched noise coming from our gas grill, but I could hear nothing. I turned the gas tank off,...

What they are hearing is the regulator. There is a diaphragm in the regulator that is vibrating due to the rush of gas flowing through it. This is easily corrected. First, the next time you light the grill, turn the tank valve only one quarter to one half of a turn and light the grill, once the grill is lit, if you have trouble bringing the grill to the temperature you want, you can open the tank valve more and the noise shouldn't start. The reason the noise won't start then is because by that time, the regulator's diaphragm is at the temperature of the gas flowing through it and, subsequently, will not vibrate. If the noise starts again, you can go to just about any home improvement store and get a replacement regulator.

Low flame with tank full

try opening the tank really slowly and see if this helps. there is an overfill protection devise in the tank and if it is opened too quickly it will restrict the gas flow to the burners. hope this helps.
