My laptop finds wireless router but will not connect to internet

I have brought a Dynamode R-ADSL-C4W-G1-U ADSL 2 and have run through the set up but when i go to connect to the internet i can only find the wireless router. The router shows WAN light on, DSL light on and the internet light flickers?!?!? When i check the networking center there is no connection between the router and the internet.

Any ideas??

Hi there. You may need to connect to the wireless network manually. What is the operating system running on your computer? If XP, you may follow these. (This is also applicable in other operating system, it may just vary a little) Right click the monitor icon showing on the system tray near the clock. Point the mouse in the icon and it will display the name if it is wireless network connection or network connection. Right click the icon and look for view available wireless network. If it is not showing, look for network connection. Right click and select "open network connection". Right click wireless network connection and select "view available wireless network" . Look for the wireless network you're trying to access or have connection.Highlight and click connect. If encrypted, you need to supply the pass key or security key twice and hit connect. It should allow you now to go online wirelessly. Please remember these, you should be able to go online wired. Make sure that there are other wireless computer connected to the wireless network you're connecting with and can go online wirelessly.

Hope this help :)

Connect the computer to the modem to check if you have interent connection. If none, verify with your service provider. If there is, kinldy perform a power cycle. Power off modem, router and disconnect them. After 5 mintues, reconnect everything meaning modem and router and router to computer. Power on modem, wait 10 sec, power on router. Make sure that the computer is on the WAN or Internet port of the router

Had wireless working in my old house. Moved and set all up again , I have broadband as I have plugged directly into laptop to prove it. Laptop finds the router but wont connect to the internet. Need help

You need to power cycle the network to syncronize the connection. You have to turn off the router and modem for 5 minutes and turn it back on. Make sure that the lights on the modem are steady before you trun on the router.

Connecting my dynamode 6004 W G1 wireless router to modem

Cable modems and routers must be turned on in a specific way. First, unplug both the router and modem. Next, plug the ethernet cable from the modem, into the cable router, and unplug the cable from the modem to the computer. Next, turn on the modem, and wait for all of the lights to stay static (usually there's 4 lights, the main one we're interested in, is the status light). Next, plug in and turn on your router. You should now be able to access the router and configure it for your internet connection.

Reset Router!

Hi LianM,
You can download your manual here,

http://www.dynamode.co.uk/support/adsl_r-adsl-c4wg.html

It is in .pdf format, so make sure you have Adobe.
Your reset button is found between the Power pluging hole and the RJ45 port. Found on page 6

Good Luck.
