I know you want this thing to work bad. You will get better help out of Sony that what I am going to tell you. Call 1800345 7669 and get it fixed. If you do not want to call sony and want to attempt a near impossible repair. Here we go. Go find a table on a a floor that is not carpeted.REmove the screws that hold the case together.
Look where the wies connect to the main board in the middle.
look for Bad solder joints, and if you find any REsolder these.
Put it back together and test it.
Sony has been having a slight problem with the Soldering in the PS3 era, you may get lucky and find one. But, you wil void your Warranty.

I have several controlers in several different colors, but "coincidently" several of the blue colored controls have had the LED lights stop working completely. I am begining to think that many blue colored Sixaxis PS3 controlers were made during a version that had problems with the LED lights going out and no longer working, or simply a bad batch of controlers.
Did you try letting it charge for a while, even if the ligfhts won't light up, then press and hold the PS3 button to check and see if it took the charge?
On my blue controlers, they still charge and still work, but none of the LED lights illuminate anymore.
Solution would be to buy a new controler, or ignore the lights not working.
if the light isn't flashing 1 of 2 things the usb cable is bad or the battery is done try another cable or plug in another controller and see if it charges that would rule out the cable ..Hope this helps
Your PS3's problems are actually being caused by a connection error between the hard drive and motherboard. Without a correctly working hard drive connection your PS3 is unable to function and goes into shutdown mode, with the flashing red light warning .
theres a little hole on the bottom of ya controler get somethin small and press the button.you may also need a new charger.my controlers did that to now one of mine to day went wacko on cod 5 when i moved the ps button wasnt pressed but the screen still poped up then it wasnt responding correctly it made me go like this stand crouch lay down crouch lay down stand up and kept on doing it its going to affect my freinds playing when he plays splitscreen with it how do i fix it!?
hi i had this problem my controller would not charge although my head set would useing the same usb cable .i brought a new controller and tried two usb leads it was no different .this is the silly bit go and buy a new genuine ps3 usb cable and and i promise you all your problems will be solved .i have no idea y the cables stop working with only the conroller but they do i hope this helps all you people pulling your hair out trust me this will work
I just fixed mine. The controller itself needs to be reset. There is a reset button on the back of the controller, above the top right hand corner of the square with all on the information and barcode. Press it with a sharp tipped object while still connected to the PS3 via USB cable. Then press the PS button and you should be back on wirelessly.
