I/O device error with 16GB SD on XP

I have XP and a 16GB SD Elite Pro memory card that I keep getting an I/O device error. I don't get it with my memory stick or smaller SD card when using my external card reader. Is my card to big or any way to read the larger card. I have tried it on a different computer with Vista and can read them all, but not on XP??

I have a alcatel one touch pixi 3 10 i have inserted a micro card but have no instructions of how to make use of it

First check in settings, scroll down to storage and see if it's been listed as memory module. Something like External SD card and a bar next to it saying how much of it is free and how much space you have left.
If you've put in a 16GB card it should read something like 14.6GB free of 16GB (you never get all the memory).
The device RAM will be listed in a separate bar as will the devices' main memory.
Check you have some kind of Office APP or management type APP, download either a free one or buy one. This will be able to write on the SD card.
There are specific SD card managers so it's up to you what you install, go for the simplest one to begin with.
The device may not have much internal memory so it's important to move some heavy APPs to the SD card and also save video files directly to SD.
Keep it simple as you can, everyone has some different way to write or use so I can't describe any. It's not that hard anyway, just looks complicated.

Will my canon ixus 60 take a 16gb memory card

Yes. The IXUS 60 was designed to work with SD cards. Cards larger than 2GB are actually SDHC (the HC stands for High Capacity) and will not work in this camera.

I put my 16g sd card in my phone but it keeps saying insert an sd

it could be that your phone does not support high capacity sd cards (SDHC). Check the users manual to see what types of cards it supports and if SDHC is listed.

Some camera's, especially older ones, have a limit as to the maximum size of the memory card that they support. Look in the manual to see what the camera can support.
