You need to plug your comuter into one of the LAN Port and the Copier into another LAN port your Modem into toyr WAN port. Then you will need the IP of the router it should com along with the router Info and either be 192.168.000.1 or 192.168.0.1. add an ip spec range Isusualle use 192.168.000.120 this goes into your copier under network protacals in user tools. under the same area setup sub net mask 255.255.255.0 if you have already installed you Ricoh AP3800 Driver place the ip 192.168.000.120 again the 3rd set of numbers either .000 or .001 depending on your router. SO under start menu go to either printer and faxes or control panel right click on printer icon for ricoh AP3800 go to properties select the ports tab, Click add Port select Standared TCP ip Clickm the new port. Click next Add your IP adress for the Copier here. Click next Next window will have Generic network card so press NEXT and then Finished Close printer ports window and then click apply. I think there are 6 ways (at least?) to connect this printer:
(1) Direct to Mac (or PC) via USB Cable (2) Direct to Mac (or PC) via Ethernet Crossover Cable(3) Ethernet to router/switch, with Mac/PC also via Ethernet to router/switch(4) Ethernet to router/switch, with Mac/PC via WiFi (802.11 wireless)(5) WiFi to router, with Mac/PC via Ethernet to router/switch(6) WiFi to router, with Mac/PC also via WiFi.
As (1) should be simplest, tried this first. First document would print instantly and completely, next doc would hang in queue with unexpected msg, "Printer is offline." Only way to print 2nd doc was to power cycle (off-on) the printer. This problem occurred whether 2nd doc was sent to printer before or after 1st doc had printed. Tried 2nd USB cable, tried new driver, tried reinstalling printer; same problem. Spoke to both Samsung and Apple support, including both on a conference call; never got this to work and never clarified if problem was in printer hardware/software, driver, or something else. Both companies now showing this issue as unresolved.
Nothwithstanding USB problem, did succeed in modes (4) and (6), although custom wireless config needed since my network does not broadcast SSID and requires an encryption password. Procedure required connecting first via Ethernet, obtaining Configuration Report by holding down orange button for 5 seconds, then using browser to connect to the printer's IP address. Also required different driver for wireless config (as opposed to USB).
Bottom line: What seemed simple - USB direct connect - proved unworkable, but wired and wireless network config works fine.

Hi All, I am trying to connect Toshiba e-studio 207 via local network but unable to make it work.

Best way to Check is getca status page from your printer ,check the IP address that’s been assigned to your printer via dhcp from the router ,then just add the printer manually by creating a tcpip port with that op address

Trying to network printer through my router

Hi John.

The best way to proceed is using the network printer software to install the printer, or using the printer IP to install the printer.

You can also try first to browse for a network printer using Windows add printer standard feature, and then selecting Network Printer. You find the add printer option in control panel.

Ensure that you have printer software available, the system will need printer drivers to install the printer.

To start I will need make and model of the printer and Windows OS version (eg. XP, Vista etc.). It would also be useful to know if the computer and printer are connecting to router via LAN cable or wireless.
If possible better to connect the computer to the router using a cable for the printer installation.

Set up 2 wireless routers, 1st for printer, 2nd for internet

You should only need one wireless router for everything. The purpose of the router is to "route" multiple devices together. Your set-up should be something like this:

Modem connected to wireless router via Ethernet cable.
Wireless router broadcasting wireless internet connection.
Computer(s) connected to wireless router via cable or wireless adapter.
Computer with network printer sharing enabled.
Turn on wireless printer.
You should be able to detect the printer via Windows.
