I recently had a storm power outage and I got that terrible fast blinking light on the front of my presario. I reset my desk top modem. I fiddled with switches etc. Nothing then like magic no blinking light. Weeks later the power company came to replace lines damaged and I got the blinking light again and nothing worked like magic. It seemed absolutely dead. I tested some wires for voltage and the Power Supply seamed dead so I took the advice of one of the other people who posted the Power Supply that was the solution. I was told with some models a power surge could get to the mother board but luckily not in my case.

Try reseating the memory.  I have moved computers and 9 times out of ten the memory came loose.  So just take out the sticks make sure they're not too dusty then put them back in.

Light underneath turns on, but cursor doesn't move and I can't click anything

Unplug it, restart your computer and try it again. Only this time plug it in before you restart the computer. It should detect the new hardware. If that doesn't work, try another USB port. Could be a problem with the internal functions of the mouse also. Good luck

Motor runs fine bu sometimes wont move

It could be the belt is worn too thin and the clutch won't engage. Try a new belt and see if that solves the problem. Hope this helps.

Just moved the dryer to new home after having it in storage for 18 months. Plugged it in and it doesn't do anything. Tested house circuit and it is fine. Tested the dryer at the cord connection and it is...

On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse (a heat-sensitive fuse that blows if the dryer overheats) mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. The fuse is about an inch long. It's usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing.

If the fuse has blown, it has no continuity. When this happens, your dryer either just stops heating, or it doesn't work at all. Be sure to inspect the venting/heating system before replacing the fuse to put the dryer back into operation. (You can't re-set this type of fuse.)

Moved the router to a different room and now it wont work

check the physical connection to the router. Make sure that the modem and computer are connected properly and there is no loose connection.
Make sure that your computer is able to go online directly through the modem.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem, that means the modem is working fine.
You will need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

Computer says connected to internet,, wont display page

usually routers are setup using DHCP... on your second computer. try going to
start, control panel,  networkconnection,  "your LAN connection",\ properties Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) (should be checked)
Obtained Ip address automatically should be selected
Obttained Dns server automatically should be selected.
then click OK, OK to save settings...

if your router is not setup as a DHCP,it would require you to setup your ip address manually... let me know if this dont work, so  i can help u setup manually...

if it helps, try comparing the settings of your pc1 and pc2 (the network connection settings)

Printer wont print anything

Did you mean just the cord was repaired or did you get a new pc??? Many times, once a computer is unhooked and transported to be repaired, sensitive settings and drivers can be upset by the move. Sounds bizarre but i know it happens because it even happens to me. The other thing is did anything get done to the internals of your pc, or the software changed. This is really important too. ie, did the repairer have to change any settings in the pc, in windows or any where. Please post exact changes if any. If no settings were touched and it was just the cord, i suggest completely uninstalling the printer from the pc. If you do not know how to do this, post back. Once all traces are removed, reinstall it. Make sure printer is completely uninstalled and new installation is smoothe and no hiccups. Now connect back up correctly and turn on. Your pc should recognise new hardware and configure it for you and away you go.

No Power!!

Double check the switch in the back of the pc on the power supply. If their is a switch, you can try it in both positions. It is possible their is no switch, older compaq's are iffy. The switch will be black. Also check the 110/230 switch. I don't know what country you live in, however you may need to make sure that switch is in the appropriate spot. 110 for USA and 220/230 for UK

Also, try unplugging your pc. Let it set for about 1 minute. Plug it back in and try again.
