The Bios should not be your problem and the MBR doesn't have anything to do if you didn't play with Windows installations or with any utility to create an image of your hard drive.

To understand where the problem is coming from:

- Ask someone to go to http://www.knoppix.org/ and download a Knoppix CD

- Create a bootable CD from the ISO downloaded

- Enter in your Laptop BIOS settings and change the first bootable device as the CD/DVD

- Insert the Knoppix CD and boot your Laptop

- Knoppix will start and ask boot:

- Just hit Enter

- When Knoppix has finished and it's running you will have a nice graphic interface

- click on the HD icon on the desktop and see if you can see your files, if not you have a bad Hard disk

- Knoppix has also a utility to test the memory too.

If you tryied to install another copy of Windows or you made an image using some software like Ghost, you have to:

- boot from a floppy disk (Download and create from here http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm, I suggest Windows 98 SE)

- At the prompt type FDISK /MBR and press Enter

ATTENTION: If you type something different you may distroy all your files on your hard drive

Cmos checksum bad boots to the splash screen then goes black with a blinking white line tried reseting the jumper cmos no luck load default settings no luck removed psu and battery no luck

This error is not the same as a CMOS Checksum Error, which refers to corrupted values of the CMOS settings, the ones you set through the BIOS setup program. This error means the contents of the BIOS code itself are damaged.

During the boot process you will see on the screen a certain key to press to enter setup
Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS you can load failsafe defaults or load optimized defaults ,press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart
You will also need to set the time and date

In the main or system setup screen you should be able to see the date and time Using your arrow keys navigate to the date and change the date. Once highlighted on the month, day, or year, press your arrow keys or your page up / page down keys to change the date.

hope this helps you

P4c800-e gives error bios not loaded

this motherboard is supposed to have crash free BIOS an overclocking ability and power loss restart

is it happening on boot up the drivers have not been loaded or might not be detecting a bootable device the first things to check are the leads motherboard to your hard drive make sure they are securely seated with no dust built up also the same with computer ram and cmos battery and make sure the sockets are cleanThis message is generated by computers with SCSI / RAID controllers when no bootable drive is detected on the controller. This is not an error message unless you have a bootable drive on the SCSI / RAID or you are wanting to use a SCSI or RAID drive. If you are not using a SCSI or RAID drive and your computer has onboard a SCSI or RAID controller, this message can be disabled by entering the computer CMOS Set up and disabling the onboard SCSI or RAID During the boot process you will see on the screen to press delete to enter setup Press and hold delete during the boot up process to enter BIOS you can load failsafe defaults or load optimized defaults ,press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart If your computer is unable to boot or you wish to restore the BIOS back to bootable settings and your computer uses an ACER BIOS, press and hold the F10 key as you turn on the computer. While continuing to hold the F10 key, you should hear two beeps indicating that the settings have been restored. AMI BIOS Older AMI BIOS could be restored back to bootable settings by pressing and holding the Insert key as the computer is booting.
BIOS / CMOS diskettes

Early 486, 386, and 286 computers may have required a floppy disk in order to enter the BIOS setup. These diskettes are known as ICU, BBU, and SCU disks. Because these diskettes are unique to your computer manufacturer, you must obtain the diskettes from them. See the computer manufacturers list for contact information. Early IBM computers Some models of early IBM computers required that the user press and hold both mouse buttons as the computer was booting in order to enter the BIOS setup.

Other suggestions
Finally, if none of the above suggestions help get you into your CMOS setup you can cause a stuck key error, which will usually cause the CMOS setup prompt to appear and remain until you press a key to continue. To do this press and hold any key on the keyboard and do not let go (you may get several beeps as you're doing this). Keep holding the key until the computer stops booting and you're prompted with an option to enter setup or to press another key to continue booting.
hope this helps

Iam at black screen that said F1 to resume i pressed and sendme to bios utility how can i go back to regular screen windows

What was the error-message just BEFORE that 'F1' message?

Turn the computer off, wait, and turn the computer on.
If you get into BIOS SETUP,
use the "arrow" keys (UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT)
to highlight the 'Load BIOS defaults' menu-item.
Press ENTER to apply that option.
Use the arrow keys to select "Save and Exit from BIOS setup".
Press ENTER to apply.

Windows will not load up white acer screen comes up then 2 beeps and white writing on black screen shows various errors

Use the windows CD if you have it.

Start the computer and enter the BIOS menu. Change the 'boot priority' or 'boot order so that the CD drive is before the HDD. Save your settings and restart the computer.

Enter the windows CD and press a key when prompted to load from the CD. Windows has a series of utilities that may (or may not) assist you in sorting the various error messages that appear on your computer when booting.

I hope this solves your problem : - )
