    Hi Rylee
I unplugged the power supply, took out the cartridge and then reset it in place. Upon plugging power supply back in the cartridge moved to the centre and then cycled twice before returning to the far right position. The printer will not print on command from the PC.
    George.

Cannot find my printer driver. Downloaded the Canon driver detective from the site you sent but cannot open as "This program has performed an illegal operation" I guess my AVG virus protection has found something.

    Thanks Rylee
I have downloaded the Canon BJC 1000 Driver and saved it to a folder, but I cannot get it to install on my computer. I am using Windows 98 SE on a regular PC. Please advise

Hi

Please check if the ink cartridges move when you give a print command. If the BJ cartridge will not return to the home position (stays in the center) or will not move away from the home position (stays to the right), then the BJ cartridge may need to be reseated or replaced.

Reset the power to the printer either with the power button or by unplugging the power cord. Release the locking lever that locks the cartridge into place. Carefully remove and inspect the BJ cartridge. Place the BJ cartridge back in the printer and lock the locking lever completely. Reset the power to the printer again, either with the power button or by unplugging the power cord.

If the cartridge will not move after attempting the above steps, you may need to replace the BJ cartridge. Also check if the ink cartridges are empty. Please check if you are getting any error code.

Please do accept this solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

    Hi

Please reload your printer drivers as it should work after this. Also check the cable and clean if corroded, and replace anything if needed.

    Hi!

Please turn off the computer and printer for fifteen minutes. And after that first start the computer and then printer. After starting the printer please try to print a test page on its properties. If still the problem persists please download the drivers again on this link---

After downloading the drivers again check printing test page. You may also refer to this link for further reference---

Cannon MP600 printer shut itself down during printing operation . Pressing ON/OFF button will not turn it. I checked connections and power source. Still, no reaction.

Re: "Cannon MP600 printer shut itself down during printing operation ."

If a Canon inkjet printer is turning itself off, then problem is either control board or power unit. When this happens printer is often considered beyond repair, and in any case it must be tested by a technician to find out the problem.Repair involves testing volts out from power unit and testing components on main board.
Considering that the MP600 is quite an expensive inkjet, I suggest contacting Canon support and asking a quote on repair.
