Flickering screen (likea strobe light)

My gateway xhd3000 monitor suddenly began flickering badly (like a strobe light) yesterday during use. I've tried disconnecting everything but the power cord and it still flickers when the onscreen menu appears. I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting the power cord, disconnecting the power supply and moving it to another power outlet with no resolution. Thanks in advance for your help. :)

Problem with flickering is in the board that is mounted to the back of the lcd screen. Part is only available in China.
Board will either need replacing or repairing (if it is repairable? Not all are)
I repair lcd monitors on ebay and just repaired one of these boards.

I was able to fix this by unplugging everything, including power, then press power button for 1 minute continously. Then plug power back in and see if it reappears in product tour. Repeat as necessary. Seems to unload the static.

Now several months later the problem appeared again, and this time even that wont help. I suspect that the XHD 3000 is a lemon. Bad product.

My coby flatscreen comes on and works but strobes flashing light but works good just with strobing light ! whats going on?

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Check the cables, connectors and connections.
Take it to a repair shop.

FLICKERING BACK LIGHT

Sounds like you have an LCD tv with backlight problems. Check power board for domed capacitors and replace them. next check connections on the inverter boards. they are on the sides or just one side. Becareful there is high voltage output from these boards. If the cable from inverter board is not good to the screen you can get a strobing. the inverter boards may need replaced. or cales to screen may be bad. The panel also could be bad.

Upper half of screen is flickering. Started last night. Appears to heat up and flicker. When I shut the TV down and let it cool off, flicker stops, but then starts again after the TV is on for a while. ...

There are two places to look for the problems, the backlight inverter board and the power supply. Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.
