System will not power up

Philips flat panel 50" tv model #50PF9431D/37 will not power up. Once your turn on the power sys run through it ionisation then & shuts down. I get an error code of 6 long & 3 short blinks from the Red LED. I believe that it has tow errors 1) Over current during startup and a fail Raster. Can any of you confirm or offer suggestions.

Well this is what I did to fix the power issue with my Philips plasma HDTV. Removed back panel & Vacuumed system inside & out, reset all cables, Tested all Fuss's " none of them were bad". Oddly enough once I reinstalled the back panel my TV now works?. Will keep you post as to how long this remains. This started as a system that would power up the shut down in a few seconds, With a Blinking code of 6 long then 3 short.

Thanks. First time I looked & Vacuumed off all PCB's. Closely inspected the Power supply Board. Set worked fine for 2 weeks. Sys complete failure this week end. Found two Radial 3300uf 10v Hi Temp Caps blown. Waiting on replacements. Will up date once Caps arrive.

Remove the back from the set and look at the power board in the center of the TV. It will probably have one of more capacitors with the tops bulging out. Replace them with the same value part. Available from radio shack and almost any electronic suppliers.

If there are any more caps of the same value ( 3300 x 10), I would replace all of them at the same time. You'll be up and running just fine.

The Samsung LN40B540P8F I would rate a 9. Only God is 10.

All the DLP sets, you can throw out

All the Older Projection sets you can throw out

I would take the rest for scrap parts.

I hope this is helpful.

I have a Philips 50" Flat HDTV model 50PF9431D/37. Problem with screen turning on. I get sound. I get 9 quick flashes in red. Then after unplugging and plugging back in several times. It then blinks...

I have the exact same problem! I have it hooked up to a power strip now to unplug it by flicking of the power strip and waiting for the red light to go out then I turn it back on while Channeling up 10 X's and then down and up until it comes on. I listen to the sound of the switch which it comes on. I turn it off if it is faint and then back on and channel up. Crazy process but it's been working. It takes about 10 minutes everytime to get the TV on until I get a tech to come out and look at it. The capacitor keeps a charge which is why the light is flashing with a code for 60 seconds./JJ

Philips 50 Inch Plasma Model 50PF7320A/37 will not turn on

Commonly it's going to be a power supply related problem. The two boards that need to be looked at is the Main Power Supply Board or the power supply board for the screen. The one that powers the screen, some manufactures call it a Backlight Inverter Board.
If you have some electronic experience, you can sometimes find a Service Manual for the TV over the internet for less than $20. It will have the all resource material for repairing your TV model. It's just the matter of replacing the bad part on the circuit board.

Phillips 50PF9431D/37: Perfect Picture, inuadible audio

The audio or sound IC (integrated Circuit) on the TV panel maybe bad and need to be replaced.
Also, the speakers of the TV may have a weak connection from inside the panel.
But my best bet is the first solution i gave. If u are not a qualified electronics technician then take it to a service centre.

Philips tv error code

1 long and 4 short blinks for this model is specific to class d audio amplifier on small signal board. if it is intermittent where this sometimes happens and you can unplug and replug and power back on would be related to the firmware version but if version is correct you would still need to replace ssb
