- Holding the tax rate button down doesn't work. It just locks out the other keys. I'd love to know how to set this too. It seems to default to 5%, my state is 6%. They should change the state tax rate to match my calculator, I guess.- Crusis

Non-printing models (also applies to HR-8TE printing calculator):
1. Press [AC]
2. Hold [SET/%] key for about 2 seconds
3. Press [TAX+]
4. Input the tax rate
5. Press [SET/%]

Hold down the rate set button (% button) the rate will show after a couple of seconds, change the rate then push the same button. This will change it.
