SOURCE: Battery lite glows when pto is engaged after running for 5min

The charging circuits used on smaller tractors are generally barely adequate for the load presented to them, so it is important that the tractor engine is running fast enough especially when using PTO power. If your tractor has a tachometer on it, JD has an indication of the motor speed you should use when using the PTO. If not, it is generally pretty close to max. It should sound like it is running smoothly although fast, and not with whining or rough sounds from the engine.

SOURCE: John deere gx345 has no spark at plug what is the cause?

need new coil pack or have short in harness grounding engine from running. check fuel line to carburator. 1. take float bowel off bottom of carb. do not touch float or pin holding float. crank engine over until fuel comes out of carb. If fuel comes out, you don't have fuel problem. put float bowel back on carb. 2. check for spark. take spark plug out of mower. put wire back on plug and place the threads on head [or metal of engine to ground the plug]. crank engine over for a few seconds to see if plug gets spark . [always double check with another spark plug that is good]. [[ Remember!!! you have to have someone sitting on the lawnmower to start. unless you by-pass safety switch [only do this if you understand how the safety switch works. NOT EXPLAINED HERE!!!]] If spark is present, there is no grounding problem. when engine is cool. 3. CHECK COIL PACK. for continuity. When the coil pack gets hot it will stop any juice to the plug. A>Check temp sensor B> Check Safety switches grounding out. C> Check for cut wiring harnes. [loose wires rubbing against pulleys, wires cut by rodents]. Hope this helps.........................GAS

John Deere 755. After start up continue to hear a clicking/buzzing, new glow plugs, controller relay seems fine, sound is near the glow plugs 755 JD new glow plugs new battery

Some mechanics use a stethoscope with a simple metal tube probe instead of cup to narrow down where a sound comes from.

Without actually hearing it, my first guess would be valve tap (sound comes from the cylinder head or one side of the block near the head). This could indicate an oil pressure problem, worn or sticky valve lifter, or a rocker arm that needs adjustment. If the oil is low or dirty, try adding or changing as needed.

Another possibility is a noisy fuel injector. although I've literally never heard of that. Try a fuel injector cleaner made for diesel engines.

Glow plugs aren't supposed to have moving parts to make noise. I suppose a defective plug with a poorly sealed heater element could do it, but I would think you'd have rough running and maybe see the glow plug cable vibrating unusually.

I have a John Deere 6330 that burns to much fuel, but has spells where it will drop rpm, and has no power.alot of black smoke during the bad spells.

Have you tried replacing the spark plug/plugs with a new set of quality US made spark plugs. NOT CHINESE IMPORT PLUGS either!

Cheesy spark plugs will fail under load if they are imports. Stick to the same heat range as the original park plugs. What brand of fuel are you using too? Stick to a quality brand of fuel and not the discount gas stations. Good luck.

How to add brake lights/turn signals to rsx 850i john deere gator

I would look into buying a turn signal and brake light kit, I saw a couple on Ebay. Also should be able to get them at your local John Deere dealer, although like anything green they get good green money for it.

I have a 4500 John Deer tractor that typically won't start in cold temperatures (i.e. 39 or below) otherwise it starts promptly. I've pushed the key in to heat the glow plug a minute or more.

The 4500 John Deere tractor sounds like the glow plugs are not working. Checked voltage at the glow plugs to make sure that there is 12 DC volts.(Might have to remove main wire from the glow plugs to check!) If no voltage at glow plugs there maybe a bad fuse, relay or wire connection in the glow plug circuit. If there is 12 DC volts at the glow plugs, it is possible that the glow plugs need to be replaced.

I have a JD X595 Diesel. This is what happens, say if I start it, then shut it down it will not start again right away. The first time it starts the glow plug light comes on. Shut it down and try to start...

Before you do anything grab a test light, remove the wire from your glow plug, put one end of test light on positive on your battery and the other end on the glow plug, if the light comes on than your glow plug is ok, if not replace, otherwise you need to locate the relay/sensor that tells the glow plug when to go off/on which is more than likely the problem, you may be able to locate it by tracking the wire from the glow plug or your local John Deere service provider may be able to tell you exactly where it is over the phone.

6330 JD every fuel line leaks with just over 100 hours.

John Deere will replace the lines with the original under warranty but as soon as your warranty runs out and you develop a leak go to solid rubber after market fuel lines and your problems will be over. The braided fuel line that is put on at the factory and replaced by Deere under warranty has a poor performance record and i would replace it,Deere can't get warranty for the repair unless the part replaced has a J.D. part number on it,but if you are willing to supply the hose,go rubber and the leaking will end.
