Question about Apple Mac mini G4 Desktop
My name is and I Francklin from Brazil.
In my town there is no authorized Apple.
I just landed on the planet Windows.
I left there for lack of security. The Mac came on the planet without knowing anything.
I won a Mac Mini PPC G4 with 1 Gb RAM with HD burned.
I bought new HD, format it in HFS+ with the Magic parted.
I have original discs Mac OS X version 10.4.10
I get the problem: I boot pressing "C" then the apple appears and then a screen with two superimposed texts and a bunch of things written in the following sentence at the end.
panic: We are hanging here ...
If I boot with "alt" pressed, appear two small rectangles, one with an arrow and another curve with a straight arrow.
In the middle there is designing a cd written below:
Mac OS X Install Disc 1
If you click the arrow curve, the clock is thinking one time and nothing happens.
In the design of the CD does not click and if you click the arrow straight back and the apple appears on that page with the text overlapping.
Is that could help?
Thank you very much.
If you are unable to boot from the CD's, and you are sure they are the CD's that are supposed to come with that model (the bundled CD's/DVD's are model specific), you may either have bad RAM or other damage to the logic board.
Try holding "D" when you try to start up from the discs instead of C, this should launch a hardware diagnostic utility. Run that, and see if it finds any other damage to the machine.
