my red light blinks with not picture. Here is a post I found that explains the problem.

2 blinks is +B OCP protection. The manual states "Short circuit of power supply system in each circuit." and "Goes to the standby mode. Short circuit of +B line"

How do I fix this error? Can I replace a board or power supply or ??? to fix this? Thanks, Bruce B.

Thanks. I will need to see if it is worth spending more $'s. It looks like a technician is the next step. Bruce B.

2 times red light indication:
, Diagnosis: B overcurrent(OCP). Possible causes: H. OUT (Q8024) is shorted. (D board), +B PWM(Q8035, 8038) is shorted. (D board) Symptoms of the problem: Power doesnot come on, Load on power line is shorted.

remedy:

You will either need a repair technician or you can delve into the set yourself if you are a technician. You would be looking for bad caps, fuses, bad solder joints on the main power supply board.
it would come around 100$ ,even if we try to solve at a point the technicians does the work neat and clean for your valuable tv.

prevention:

first try using a stabiliser, cuz if the current is not stable your board will short every time

you have to replace the power supply board ...If you hire a tech, you can at least point him in the right direction. You would be looking at $150 and up since this TV would require an in-house visit.

Yes absolutely correct.you will have to replace the power supply board.its the power supply board problem. to replace the power supply board is not a difficult job as it is just fitted by some screws and some plug in wires that is easy job.but the tough job is to open the tv to reach till power supply board. the part number of power supply board is A-1316-400-A you can get this board at  http://www.partstore.com/Model/Sony/Sony/KP53XBR200.aspx
click the link directly and the cost of board is $198. but if you are not familiar with opening the tv then its quite advisable that you get it done by a local tv reparing technician.as it will be safe .
Please do rate the solution.Thank you for using fixya.keep updated. thanks

Hi Bruce,

When power on the set, the green light blinks about 8-10 times before the light stays lit. Then the green bars appear. Looking at the service manual, it would seem to be an issue with the GI/GK board. Perhaps there is a connection problem betwwen the B1 and GI/GK boards. I did remove the B1 board and reattach. but the problem remains. Is this a direction I should follow (remove the GI/GK board and inspect?

My 2 cents,

Thanks

My Sony Bravia TV - Model #: kdl-52z5100 no longer powers on. There's a red light that blinks twice whenever I attempt to power it on. Please help

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

Sony TV turns off immediately after turning on

Two blinks - B+ over current protection (OCP), unit goes to the standby mode then displays the 2 blink fault. Could be a short in the power supply of any of the circuits. Check this link to get more details about Sony Blinking codes.

Hi i have lost instruction manual for my total remote urc 11-4110 b02 Universal Remote could you tell me how to code it to tv manually please

@font-face { font-family: "Cambria"; }p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal { margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt; font-size: 12pt; font-family: "Times New Roman"; }div.Section1 { page: Section1; } SET UP
TV
The Search Method
If your device does not respond to the TOTAL CONTROL after you have tried all the codes listed for your brand, try searching for your code. The Search Method allows you to find the code for your device by scanning through all the codes contained in the memory of the TOTAL CONTROL.
To search for your TV code:
1 Switch your television on (not on standby) and aim your TOTAL CONTROL at your TV.
2 Press the TV key on your TOTAL CONTROL.
3 Press and hold down SET UP until the red light blinks twice. (The red light will blink once and then twice)
4 Press 9 9 1. The red light will blink twice .
5 Now slowly, alternate between POWER and TV, over and over, until your television turns off. You may have to press these keys many times (up to 150!), so please be patient.Remember to keep pointing the TOTAL CONTROL at your television when you press these keys.
6 As soon as your television turns off, press SET UP.
The TOTAL CONTROL remote should now be ready to operate your device. Turn your device back on and try all the remote’s functions to ensure they are working
properly. If some of the TOTAL CONTROL’s commands are not operating correctly, try the search method again. You may be using the wrong code.
Once you have Set-Up your TOTAL CONTROL, you can blink back your SET-UP CODE for future reference.
Example: To blink out your Television code:
1 Press TV once.
2 Press and hold SET UP until the red light blinks twice (The red light will blink once and then twice).
3 Press 9 9 0. The red light will blink twice.
4 For the first digit of your four-digit code, press 1 and count all the red blinks. If there are no blinks, the digit is "0".
5 For the second digit, press 2 and count all the red blinks. If there are no blinks, the digit is "0".
6 For the third digit, press 3 and count all the red blinks.
If there are no blinks, the digit is "0".
7 For the fourth digit, press 4 and count all the red blinks. If there are no blinks, the digit is "0". Now you have your four-digit code.Make sure you write your Television code for easy future reference.

How do you tune Sky+ remote into Sony KDL46W5710 Television

The Sky+ remote should automatically default to Sony TV's. Leave the batteries out for a few minutes and try again. The Code for Sony is 0000.
Or try this :-

With TV and sky box on.
Press the 'TV' button on the remote.
Hold down the 'select' and the 'red' button (of the four coloured buttons) together, until the red light on the remote blinks twice. (takes 2 seconds)
Press the 'TV' button again.
Now enter four zeros, the red light on the remote should blink twice.
Press the 'standby' button (top right).
If the TV turns off, then press 'select' and the light should blink twice again, job done.

If the TV does not turn off then press 'TV' followed by 'standby' again.
Alternate pressing 'TV' 'Standby' until the TV turns off.
When it does, finish by pressing 'Select.
Check the red light on the remote, if it blinks 3 times, then it has run out of options for 0000.
