42 Philips Plasma 42pf5321d/37 green light on no AV no Menu nothi

Hi I have a Philips 42 " 42pf5321d/37  bought 11.06 . My av went dead cant bring up menu or anything on the screen. I unplug the set, plug it in and  the green light comes on , theres a few seconds and something inside doubleclicks like it's shutting down but the light remains green. except it looks a little funny. Not as bright as usual.  I tried to reload firmware and the memory device blinks like its being read but still no nothing. Appreciate help. I have a TV guy looking at it but is there an inline fuse that may be causing this? Any help appreciated. Dave R.

I had the Same issue. on a 50PF9431D/37 set. Many Plasma Set's use a LJ44-00118A PS-505-PH Power supply from Samsun. Know to have this common problem. If you can, or have a friend that can Solder components?. Unplug your set remove the back panel & locate your power supply. It will be the PCB in the center of the set just above the Video/Audio conections. http://www.shopjimmy.com/power-supply-unit-lj44-00118a-from-philips-50mf231d-40.htm. Link to a photo of the PCB. Make a note of the location of all cable connections then unplug them all. Un-install PCB, Check a Fuse first. I believe their is 5 or 6 of them on the PCB. Then replace the two 3300uf 10v 105C Radial capacitors at C8060 & C8059. The location of the caps are in the Lower bottom edge of the PCB. A local shop may Carrie them if not, digi-key has them. Part # http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail&name=493-1754-ND. Total cost was $7 with S/H.

You might look at a Power conditioner to ensure constant clean Voltage & current to your Set, Price I know running about $150 to $200, but this will protect your set from a Spike and under voltage swings from the 110V plug. Surge protectors only help the Spikes on the 110v Line not the Drops. Hope this helps

42" Plasma 42PF5321D/37 will not power on. I replaced the fuse on the power supply board with a 3 amp (that's what it looked like, but I'm not sure it was the right size because it was burned

Always replace fuse with fuse value required If fuse value is less it will burn out . If you replace with fuse that is required and it burns out then you have bad short in power supply circuit In that case check bridge rectifier

My 42PF5321D/37 will not turn on, just flashes a red standby light. I have a Philips Plasma model number 42PF5321D/37.

Most likely a power supply problem. If it's covered under the warranty take it in right away and have them fix it. If not a good Philip's service shop can fix it. They may have a flat fee repair charge?
Blessings,

Philips 42PF5321D/37 Error Codes

replacing ssb for 4 blink error was correct as error is communication failure specific to micro processor on ssb. getting an alternate error after replacing ssb would suggest either wrong ssb or defective ssb. verify vendor number on ssb tuner on original and new ssb and if same reorder that board and if not order per original board
