Taking photos with casio ex-s10 goes all white

Hi. If you are using it in 'manual' mode there may not be anything wrong. If so, see if you can switch the mode dial to 'automatic' so the camera can adjust itself. The EX-Z30 doesn't have a black-and-white mode. You can convert a color picture to black-and-white using just about any photo-editing program on a computer, and this will give you better control over the conversion than any camera.

Check your ISO setting. Try "auto ISO".

If the photo shoot out show white , the obscure (quality variation), and even horizontal line ( white lines), and so on over-exposure cases, even if the use of anti-tremor, set to default values are invalid, because the camera shutter fault.

Can't repair by yourself.

Sounds like a setting try setting it to default un the setup menu if that does not help then the CCD need tobe replaces most likely. Hope this helps.

try to use the zoom function during picture preview and you will see the horizontal bands. Time to change to a new CCD i guess..or maybe a new camera :-)

It appears this problem is due a failing CCD device in many brand cameras. All the manufactures use the same source(s). I have not persued Casio as yet, but other companies are offering a recall to replace the CCD for free. I plan to use this approach with Casio. Search the web for "failing CCD in digital camera", it describes exactly what we are observing.

Try resetting. If that doesn't help send it in for repair. To reset: In record mode press menu go to setup tab go up to reset press right arrow & highlight reset press set.
