Question about JVC KS-F90 Cassette Player
I have just bought an MGB Roadster with this radio/cassette fitted. It also has a main switch that isolates the battery for obvious security reasons. The radio was not working but came to life when I replaced the fuse in the back of the unit! But when I switch the battery OFF I lose the settings on the radio and have to tune stations when I start up again. Is there an internal battery that should hold the settings for me or is there a rechargeable device I can add that would help? Everything else worked fine
Your radio probably needs a constant live to retain the radio settings. It may be that your radio has 2 live wires. 1 live that operates the radio coming from the ignition and 1 coming from a constant live that just gives enough power to retain the memory settings.
If you are going long periods of not using the MGB I would disconnect the battery to stop the it draining. If your battery goes completely flat it will damage the battery
