I had the same problem. I fixed it by manualy moving the nylon grears in the front of the machine. After this problem was fixed, my drive motor will not spin the disc. Does anyone have any sugestions.

I have the same problem with my drawer not opening and my other discs are stuck inside. You hear the gears changing or at least trying to, and an annoying humming sound. the fm tuner works, just the dvd/cd player itself isnt! what do I do?

  • loghome Apr 03, 2008

Same problem here in MN - DVD door will not open/close, unless I pry on it. It locks up and I need to cut power a few seconds, then I can use the tuner.

Any fixes out there - before I start the surgery on it. Shoot me an email.

DVD player door won't open. Grinds. Says "NO DISC"or "OPEN."
Or the bottom (5th) disc tray goes back and forth. No progress. So frustrated...

Everything loads/unloads fine but when it loads it comes up with the "open" message and does not go any further in the playback process.

DVD/CD room isn't opening. Motor runs and it's sound is very strong. Firstly "CLOSED" is shown and then "LOAD" on screen. But not achieved. Thanks for you help.

The only way to approach this is someone has to open the unit and "see" what is happening---something jammed, broken or out of position.

I am trying to hook my home theater system to my flat screen tv to play dvd's and to hear the radio.

The TV has nothing to do with listening to the radio. All the TV REQUIRES in as a minimum is a video input from the RTD. Page 2.

Your problem with the store is unclear. If you just purchased it, take it back. And I urge you to dig into your pockets for something a little better, as this system is not known to be reliable or exactly high-quality.
