If you have a tv with HDMI use the HDMI port on the left side of the laptop. Change the sound output to HDMI first if you want to output sound through the tv.

I cant find a port in which i can connect the tv cable into my acer laptop 5920

The Acer 5920 comes with two options to connect and display the desktop onto a TV.

The First Option is the HDMI port which you can identify by looking here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI

The HDMI cables cost around $14 - $20 at Target or Walmart

You must ensure that yourTV has an HDMI port or you will not be able to connect to it.

Also, the regular 5920 does not have an HDMI port, but the 5920G does, so check your model on the bottom of your laptop to be sure.

The second option is S-video, you can see that here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S-Video

Cables are retaltively cheap, but be sure to check the connections to ensure the pins match the port.

I have just bought a VGA canble and sound lead to use my Samsung LCD TV as the monitor for the Acer Aspire 5920. When the power lead is turned on there is a flickering constantly on the screen and an...

I hook an HP to a Samsung HDTV in much the same way. Two things, if you connect to the monitor out on the laptop after it's already started up with Windows loaded, you will need to do a restart to activate the monitor out. You can leave TV on during this process. Second, be sure you have selected the correct input source on the TV. Mine actually has a PC input and that's how it reads when I select it via the TV's remote.

Something I've done since that you may want to consider is upgrading to a graphics card (via PCMCIA card or if daring enough you could try upgrading the internal mini-PCIe graphics assuming your PC is capable of that) that support DVI or HDMI out. This method is better if you intend to connect through a home theater or surround amp.

Acer 5920 laptop wont play blue ray on led hd tv ? tells me i need to download a program but then wont let me do that?

Check the refresh rate of both the vid card in the laptop and of the tv--make sure they match--most older tv's run at a refresh rate of 60htz and blue ray players at 128htz meaning they are incompatible--good luck hope this helps
