Why wont my twilight turtles turn on - Cloud B Twilight Turtle

I have a Cloud B Twilight Turtle. The Lights stopped working after my first battery installation. I fixed this (thank you China) by bending the POSITIVE battery contacts so they would make contact with the batteries. I guess the factory batteries had smaller positive contact terminals ( or the spring in the contacts had lost their tension ) than Energizer or Duracell. Hope this helps you. Thanks.
