Question about Lexmark F4270 Plain Paper Inkjet Fax

I have a line in the middle of the scaned images and I don't know how to get to the 'mirror'

Every picture I want to scan has a vertical somewhat difuse vertical line in the middle of the page. I can by-pass-it when I have little pictures to scan but what with the big ones? I suppose it is something on the 'mirror' but I don't know how to get there to clean it

The area where you place your document to scan does open up. They do on all fax machines. The whole control panel will open either from the top or bottom of the control panel. you should just have to pull up on it. After you get it open you should see the scanner. I it may be under a long roller? The is probably ink on the scanner glass that needs to be cleaned.

Sorry I couldnt be more specific to your model number but this should get you in the right direction.

TV has a great picture but wont "hold it". Keeps going to a single flat horizontal line across the middle of the screen. Tapping on side of TV used to bring it back but now, nothing. Just a line.

Vertical scan output section circuit fault. Absence of vertical scan causes the single horizontal line on screen. Horizontal scan output section is OK. Contact any service technician to troubleshoot the vertical scan output section circuit. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. A black line on the scaned page

If light going around the paper, and if upper white paper don't cover it, this part will be black. Try to cover with some part of white paper around. If you have black line in the middle of scan, you have hardware problem with scanner (or old buggy driver). Try to update scanner driver.

Our Phillips flat screen TV picture is split down the middle vertically. One side shows a mirror image of the other side, and then sometimes one side is a lighter shade than the other, when it is full...

This may be due to a faulty Timing Control board (TCON board). I had a similar problem with my Samsung LCD TV picture being split vertically down the middle. The image on both halves appeared fuzzy and in reverse (mirror) including the menus. I replaced the TCON board and the problem was resolved.

Hi a vertical line is in image scanned please tell me how to solve this problem thanks

The lines are due to dirty scanner mirror. The printer/ scanner design is based Sheet-Fed Scanner. Open/Lift the scanner top (by pullung it near the area where you feed the paper to scan). Look out for the horizontal mirror and use a soft, damp, lint-free cloth to gently clean the scanner mirror, rollers etc. and enjoy clear scanning!

Good Luck!
Hope this helps! Dont forget to appreciate the solution!!

Why does television have a straight line across no picture but sound

Hello
It is due to total loss of vertical scaning. Your TV has both vertical and horizontal scan at predetermined frequencies to show the picture over the entire screen. If vertical scan fails, you will see a bright horzontal line, and if horizontal scan fails you will see a vertical line through the middle of the screen.
In your TVs case, there is no vertical scanning now. Usually this may be due to failure of Vertical Output Ic. In some cases, loose solderings on the sodered ponts of vertical Ic legs are noted.
Anyway, you have to open your TV. You must have a concept of soldering, and ability to locate and isolate faulty component. Usually vertical output Ics are screwed into a heatsink metal inorder to radiate heate from it while working. Locate the Ic, and look for any loose solderings first. You can determine it by giving a small hit with any noncuductive material like wood or so, never use a pencil for this as the core pf the pencil ic composed of Graphite, and it is electrically conductive. When you do so, if picture scans vertically for atleast a moment, you can make sure that the solderings are loose. Just resolder all the legs of that Ic, by applying a little more solder; will solve the problem
Just try these, and if you need any more help, ask me through Fixya. Ok.

Black line when scanning or copying

If the line only appears when the scanner is used & not when printing directly from the computer, you are correct in assuming the problem lies in the scanner assy. There should be mirrors attached to the scanner assy which will gather dust and cause copy/scan problems. Remove the glass & clean the mirrors with a DRY cotton cloth. Do not use any cleaning solution on the mirrors as they are sometimes treated & can be ruined if they come in contact with a cleaning solution. Use the dry cloth to wipe off the lens while you have it apart. Also clean both sides of the copy glass while you have it off. Reinstall glass & test.Cleaning the optics solves the problem most of the time. Good Luck!!
