My emachine w3115 comes on but, will not display anything on the desktop. can not do a reboot on it and it wont run any disk . all i have is a background picture,

Press CTRL + ALT + DEL - the Task Manager should appear. If it does then click File, New Task (Run) and type explorer then hit enter, it should return to normal.
If the Task Manager doesn't appears or Explorer doesn't starts then the system is severely corrupted, you will have to reinstall Windows using the recovery cd.

I have a brand new computer and i thought picked up age of empires 2 with the expansion installed great video of AoE 2 is great i couldnt believe it but the game itself is bad looking the water has red and...

This is a problem with older games running on newer hardware. Your computer is TOO good for this game so you have to make a few changes for it to run. First, make sure you have the version of DirectX installed that it says on the box. If you have a REALLY new computer you should have DirectX 11, otherwise you will have 10 or 9. The game probably requires something below that and you should be able to install it directly of the disc. Also, you should try running the game in compatibility mode. If none of this works, try starting the game multiple times, sometimes the glitch doesn't always effect it. If that doesn't work at all, you can try going into the task manager and terminating the explorer.exe process. You should be aware though that this will turn off your desktop, nothing will be lost but when you close the game you will have to go back to the task manager to restart explorer.exe. If you are unable to restart explorer.exe, simply restart your computer and it will restart. Also, close any background applications that you can. I hope this helps and have a nice day!

Hp dl380 G3 no display on screen.

if you mean that just shows a bue screen and no task bar or desktop ..this is probably from a virus attack that cause it ..Try to press ctrl+alt+del this should show the task manager and in the task manager run a new tas ...and lunch the windows explorer again ..
or just run from task manager the system restore..and try to restore it to an earlier date that worked..To do that pres those like I said ..and than in the task manager on screen choose file and new task (run) and type system restore..and hit enter ..ths should run it ...choose the date that you know it worked and run it ..If it do not restore you have to reinstall or ..to use it for the moment find the desktop address and add it in the start-up for that run MSconfig and press enter ..in the start menu ..choose normal ..and enter ..and choose restart ..it should get along well again..

My task manager doesn't work anymore can u help me fix this?

Try this:

If Task Manager has been disabled, you can re-enable it if you have administrator privileges on the computer.
To enable Task Manager on a computer running Windows Vista Home Basic or Windows Vista Home Premium This procedure requires you to edit the registry. An incorrect change to your computer's registry could render your computer inoperable. We strongly recommend that you back up the registry before making any changes. For more information, see Back up the registry.
  1. Open the Registry Editor by clicking the Start button 4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33.png, typing regedit into the Search box, and then pressing ENTER. 18abb370-ac1e-4b6b-b663-e028a75bf05b.png If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
  2. Navigate to the following location: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies
  3. Double-click System, double-click DisableTaskMgr, change Value data to 0, and then click OK.
To enable task Manager on a computer running other editions of Windows Vista
  1. Click the Start button 4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33.png, type gpedit.msc in the search box, and then press ENTER.
  2. Under User Configuration, double-click Administrative Templates.
  3. Double-click System, and then click Crtl+Alt+Del Options.
  4. Double-click Remove Task Manager, click Disabled, and then click OK.
or you're computer might be infected by a virus, if you're not the one who disabled the task manager.

Try to scan your computer also.

Ourmicrosoft word 2007 did not get to access

When an application hangs like that, there are a couple of options you have to shut down the system. The safest is to open the task manager, if you have mouse control, by right clicking on the task bar and choosing task manager. In the menu bar across the top of the task manager you'll see an option to shut down the computer, which if chosen will probably prompt you to end the program that's hanging. There's also an applications tab, which will allow you to select the problem program and end the task, which will sometimes enable you to free up the system without shutting down. This option should be used judiciously, however, and only when you have already tried other conventional means to end a program from within the program app itself. If you can't access task manager from the taskbar, you can also press ctrl + alt + del at the same time, and the task manager windows should come up...
Finally, you have the option to perform a hard shutdown by holding the start button down until the system closes itself down. This should only be used in dire circumstances, when you've given the system a chance to finish whatever it's processing and other means aren't working. A shutdown like this doesn't give the system a chance to save its settings and you risk losing your work and otherwise confusing the workings of things, so it's best to save this for when all else fails.
Once you get the system to start normally, you can use the built-in windows event viewer to look at what warnings or errors were encountered when the system froze up, and try to diagnose the cause and correct the problem....
If there's a problem with file corruption, for example, this may be found and or corrected by running checkdisk on the system...etc.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

Serious TaskManager Problem!!

Task Manager can be disabled by 2 main ways..
[1] Either there is a virus on your machine--
[2]Or It was manually disabled.
--The 1st solution is to get an anti virus which is up to date and run a virus scan to delete the viruses that maybe present.

--The second solution is that on your START MENU, click on "run".
On 'run' type "gpedit.msc"..
Under the "User Configuration" , click on " Administrative Templates"..
Then you double click on "system" .Double click on "Ctrl+Alt+Del Options"... Double Click on " Remove Task Manager" and click on "Disable"... Click on "Apply" and "Ok"
Your Task Manager should now work !!!
