Question about Canon Pixma MP800 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Printer Error I have a Canon MP800 that is driving me crazy. I replaced the ink cartridges (I have done this several times in the past with no problem) and am having an error that states "More than one tank of the following color is installed "Cyan [8]. Use only one ink tank per color at a time" I have doubled and triple checked the ink cartridges, They are all new and in the proper places. If I take them out, and put them back in, sometimes it will work, but most of the time it does not. Is there a way to reset the printer? It sounds like a problem with the printer. Thanks, Sean

same but with yellow, turn it off, turn it on, sometimes it recognizes it, sometimes it thinks there is two of them... so god damn frustrating it hurts, tempted to hurl the thing across the room.

Question did this happen to yours just after the warranty ran out? 'cos mine is three months out of warranty... engineered obsolescence???

My printer tells me there are two magenta ink cartriges installed. I have checked and there is only one installed.

Sometimes I can fix it by taking the magenta cartrige out and reinstall it.

I fixed this problem by installing a new magenta ink cartrige. This makes me believe the problem is in the replacement cartridges. Of course this is not very satisfying because I had to discard a 3/4 full ink cartridge.

clean the printer head using the printer software tools, do these 3 to 4 times then print a page, if still work check your ink level, if you have a full ink cartridge and there no printer error aside from this have your printer head check by a qualified tech

Canon MP800 won't recognize refilled cartridge

Try holding down the red reset button for > 5 seconds. This should get rid of the error by disengaging the ink level detector.

My cannon pixma mp800 does not recognize the cyan ink cartridge, which is brand new.

I had same problem with yellow ink cartridge. After going thru other suggestions I found on different forums that didn't work (turning printer off and on, cleaning contacts with alcohol, taking out and putting cartridge back in several times) I finally called Canon as my printer was still under 1yr warranty, and they sent me a brand new cartridge free of charge and it works great now (even though my cartridge that was giving error mssg was almost brand new too). I think they have a lot of lemon cartridges out there.

Error code: U150 The following ink tank cannon be recognized (Cyan)

U150 ink error fixed!

I too was getting the error for unrecognized ink cartridge. Then the little green circ board fell out of the end of the ink cartridge and it hit me that maybe if I put in the little green circ board from the old ink cartridge of the same color, then maybe the ink cartridge would be recognized. It worked! So don't throw out an ink cartridge that still has ink just because of that error and hold onto your empty cartridges in case you need the little green/gold circ boards.

This works!
