Toshiba Satellite turn ON problem.

Hi there,

I need som urent help.

I've got a Toshiba Satellite M30X-127 laptop model. It's a 2 year old laptop, purchased brand new.

It's giving me problem whenever I'm trying to turn it ON. When I try to switch ON laptop, it just turns ON for hardly 1-2 seconds & then goes OFF automatically. Sometimes, whenever I try to turn it ON, it works for 4-5 seconds..... the Windows XP initial screen comes & then it turns OFF automatically.I tried turning it on with & without connected to mains... but no luck.

I'm not a techhi chap & to be honest doesn't know much about laptop hardware issues. Could someone please help me urgently as all my personnel work is stuck because of this issue.

Please let me know if you require any further information about the problem.

Thanks.

    Hi Mark,

Thanks for your suggestion. I've tried it, but it doesn't work. I tried turning ON laptop without battery. But nothing happens.

    Thanks.

Remove the battery and then try to run your laptop direct from the mains supply, if this works it proves your battery is NFG and you need another.

Coffe spill now screen on lap top not working

No magic fix here Philip. The only thing to do is immediately remove ALL power, AC adapter (Charger) and Battery, and open the laptop up, remove the CMOS Battery, (RTC Battery), and dry it out THOROUGHLY.

After you are SURE all components inside the laptop are dry, reassemble.
Install the Battery, then the AC adapter.

Plug into power. WAIT 1 minute, turn the laptop on.

Go down to the heading that starts with - Satellite A10. (A10 in blue)
Drop down to the fourth line (L655), and scroll across to - M30X

Click on the file name M30X.
(The Toshiba Satellite M35X-S161 Notebook PC, is part of the Toshiba Satellite M30X series of Notebook PC's )

After you click on the file name (M30X), it may take up to 30 seconds before the first page comes up.

A) Buy and wear an ESD wrist strap. Average cost is around $3 to $6.
Connect the alligator clip to a good ground source.
(Electro Static Discharge)

Your body carries Static electricity. Static WILL fry out (Short Circuit), the delicate hardware components inside a computer.

IF, the computer is still good you need to give it a fighting chance.

B) Use a multi-compartment container for the various screws you will remove.
Label each compartment for the area the screw/s come out of.

There are MANY screws that look VERY similar to other screws.
DO NOT mix them up.

C) Make a personal record as you disassemble.
Make notes, and drawings. (Legible)
Use a digital camera, or video camera if available. Use good lighting.

It's nice to have a personal record to refer back to, in case you are interrupted.

I can assure you that that part number is out of synch with Toshiba's sequences. Close, but no cigar. Did you buy that from Toshiba direct, or somewhere else. I have a toshiba tecra myself, so I go to their support center when I need help.

THE LAPTOP WILL NOT START PROPERLY

The solution to your problem is probably not the monitor, follow these steps:
1. Connect and boot your computer with 2 different monitors.
2. If it does'nt work with either of them the problem is from another computer component.
Posible Problems:
1. Your video card may be damaged or moved from it's slot.
2. Your proccessor may be damaged.
Posible solutions:
1. If you have computer hardware knowledge open the case
2. Remove the Video card.
3. Insert it back or insert another video card from a friend.(if it works with your friends card, obviously the video card is the problem)
4. Restart your computer and see if it works.
Now if it does'nt work after that you will have to replace your proccessor with one that works, from a friend, because you say your computer boots but if your monitor doesn't work you don't know for sure if it boots corectly.
The steps above are only for people with hardware knowledge, if that is not your case you should contact a computer service.

Good Luck

Screen brightness keeps going down.

its because it has gone into power saving mode, you need to go into the power/battery settings and set the brightness at 100% and then choose that setting as default.
