It sounds like the tray has come off the guides a comon problem with kids pushing the tray in rather than pressing the button. if the teeth on the track are ok then it is just a case of opening it up and putting the tray back

JVC xl-fz258 won't open to eject cd, won't play

The basic problem is that the drive mechanism has failed. The problem with CD ejection can be caused by binding in the tray or a weakened ejection motor

For lock the CD player again You have to do the same process but with the machine in ON Position.

Thank you for your email. The problem must have been dust. I kept putting the cleaning disc in for quite a number of times. Thankfully the problem was simple and it is playing super.

Denon CD unit will not play due to err

The problem is in the mechanism, maybe when you put another disc while playing that is cause. There is a misaligment there in the tray you better checked it out,and also the lense by using a cotton buds.thats all for now Hespbb....

Tray error

I saw on another JVC systems manual that its an error message that shows when the tray isn't fully open due to an obstruction. If you can locate a manual eject button(usualy you'll need to insert some tip into it) it will help you eject the tray and look for any obstructions, anything looking out of the ordinary there. at least that way you'll be able to take your cds out... You can also try disconnecting the system from all power sources for a few days(including an internal battery), maybe the reset will jog it back to working order. If you're out of warranty and know your way around those things, try taking it apart, cleaning as much as you can, and look for anything out of the ordinary, like broken gears or pins, bent parts, a cog, etc. Good luck
