You have to isolate the problem. To test the VCR, please follow the steps below:

1. Try using different TV/monitor and see if there will be a display using another monitor.
2. Connect the problem TV to another VCR just to make sure that the TV is working
3. Check the physical connection and make sure that the TV is properly connected to the video port on your VCR.

You may need to clean also the rotary head. To clean the rotary head, here I provided you the link where you can see the step-by-step instruction (with picture) of cleaning the rotary head:

http://images.google.com.ph/imgres?imgurl=http://www.gregselectronics.com/graphics/head.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.gregselectronics.com/cleanvcr.html&usg=__saFyJjxKGaiuZ5htTtbQmYFTB84=&h=293&w=365&sz=31&hl=tl&start=4&um=1&tbnid=ucA9w5DquI-tZM:&tbnh=97&tbnw=121&prev=/images%3Fq%3DVCR%2Brotary%2Bhead%2Bcleaner%26hl%3Dtl%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26channel%3Ds%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:official%26sa%3DN%26um%3D1

After cleaning the head and if there still no video, the rotary head in the vcr is probably defective. You need to consult a repair tech for second opinion.

Have a great day!

Hi there. Please c heck the physical connections. Everything should be properly connected. Make sure that the TV or monitor works okay if directly connected to the computer. Use another set of cables and see if it works. Can this support both analog and digital? please check the input, you may see a message displayed once you connect the VCR, see if it says analog or digital. If you're using VGA connection, the VCR should be set to detect analog and if using DVI, the VCR should detect digital connection. Make sure that the monitor can support dual signal monitors.

Hope this helps

How can I operate my VCR using a URC 22B remote?

The URC indicates the remote is universal, which means you can use its CODE SEARCH (or equivalent) feature to find something that will manage some or all functions of your LG VCR. If a search through all codes stored in your remote fails, you may have to try a different URC. All universal remotes do not store all possible codes.

Tip

Acessing Menu with universal remote

We used a One4All model URC3021BOO remote. We programmed BOTH the TV function and the DVD/vcr button with code 0807.  To access the menu PRESS TV then MENU button then DVD/VCR button will allow you to change menu functions using left and right and select buttons. *TV button will access Menu screen BUT NO menu functions. * DVD/VCR button will NOT access menu screen but WILL control menu functions if menu is already displayed. May work with other sharp products, or other universal remotes? These original (RRMCG1330PESA) remotes run 38.00+ to buy new so try this FIRST!

White spot on my laptop screen

Increase color depth for strange colors on your display.

If that doesn't work you probably have dead spots on your screen that no longer work. This means that your LCD assembly is no longer functioning and you will need to replace it.

Can't see "Setup" screen, or any other screens on t.v. monitor

There should be a tv vcr button on the remote control. What you done was you accidently shut off the VCR function. If you hit that button again the tv vcr button it will come back on.

VHS won't work

Had the same problem on my JVC vcr/dvd combo unit.
You need to turn off the timer function. I did this by making sure my remote was in the "VHS" mode...turn the swith from TV to the right (found on the remote in the upper left corner...an then hit the "vcr" button. Then point the remote at the VCR unit and hit the No. 4 button (timer turns off). Your unit should not have the red timer displayed and you should be able to play your tapes okay.

Hope this helps.

Panasonic VCR PV-4652

If the MFD (Multi Function Flourescent Display is not working, check the -27 - 30 Volt (minus 27V to minus 30V) supply line. The fuse or a fuse resistor (around .5ohms 1/8W ) will be blown.

Also, it is possible that the 3V AC heater supply line is disconnected at some point.
Check that also.
