SOURCE: Replacing paper pickup roller

on both sides of pickup rollers there are white bushings rotate the white bushings towards you
Remove the left-side bushing by sliding the bushing to the left.
Slide the roller and shaft toward the left until they clear the hole in the right-side bushing, and
then lift the right end of the shaft.
Slide the roller and shaft toward the right and lift the roller and shaft together out of the printer.

install your new roller then reverse this process to reinstall

SOURCE: Technics SL PD8 laser replacement

The answer is yes you do. The replacement laser pickup assembly has 2 motors already fixed to it so the pegs in the suspension have to be removed (2 off) and it is best to prise open the split in the receptacle to facilitate this without damage. Then 3 screws on the pcb need unscrewing and after the solder has been removed on the motors the boards will come apart.

The Optical Pickup(laser) has worn out. When you place a disc in the drawer, it has to load and read the TOC(table of contacts) if if can't read that, it assumes there is no CD in the drawer and stops or ejects.

My technics eh770 cd player is skipping so i now can't play cds

If the laser pickup is skipping, it is near end of life. Buy a CD cleaning kit and follow instructions, if there is no change the laser pickup assembly will need to be replaced, not cost effective to repair far cheaper to replace player.

JVC MX-D661T will not play discs 70% of the time

Yes it is the laser pickup assembly, you can try a cd cleaning kit and follow the instructions, if no change, far cheaper to replace the entire player.

Technics cd changer sl-mc59 says C F 19 it does not read disc

HelloDisc reading is done by the laser pickup assembly. If it has some trouble with it, the lead-in and lead-out signals and other music signals cannot be read from the CD disc we insert into. There are mainly three reasons for this fault. The first one is with dirty laser pickup assembley focussing lens. If the lens has accumulated with dirt or dust, the intensity or laser beam that hits the disc will be weak, and so the reflected beame too. This will lead improper reading of the lead-in signals, and the set will show no-disc after a while. Put a laser head cleaning disc [this disc can be bought from most of the electronic sparepart shops at your town], play it for at least three times, and see whether it helps you.If not, try replacing the flat ribbon plastic cable that connects the laser head assembly to the main board of the player. Actually this is a very skilled work, as you have to dismanle the mechanism out from the set. If these two processes does not help you, repalce the laser pickup assembely with same type and number. OK.

CD does not play. I ran a cleaning disc, still does not play

Cleaning discs aren't 100% effective. It's possible the pickup lens is still dirty and not able to read the CD. The best way to clean the lens is by gently swabbing with a cleaning solution designed for cleaning them, but it's not always easy to get clear access to the lens.

The laser may just be too weak now to work reliably. Their power does drop with aging and use. The pickup is replaceable, but part cost and labor may make it just as economical to buy a new player. (I fix these things, and I just bought a new player myself. It was only $20 more than a new pickup would have cost for my old Sony. A seller on eBay had a great deal on new 5-disc Onkyos.)

Also, is this playing any CDs at all? Some older players don't work well, if at all, with burned discs. If you're having trouble playing home-made discs but commercial ones play, this may be why. (It's also a symptom of pickup failure, though, so that may still be the trouble.)

Technics 5 cd changer Model SL PC11 will pick up

This is a problem with the laser assembly which requires service. The laser assembly needs to be replaced as a whole. It is not easy to replace them, but someone with patience, and a knack for mechanical things can do it.

It skips after 2minutes of playing and has been cleaned

Assuming that the laser lens is clean (you don't say how you cleaned it), the three top issues are: weak laser diode (they don't last forever), bad or weak carriage motor (the motor that moves the laser pickup across the disc), or the pickup assembly is simply out of alignment. Unless your player is too old and parts are not available, the laser pickup can be replaced with a new one...but obviously this is a job for a professional.
