Question about Jado 842/701/105 Hatteras Single Lever Monoblock Vessel Faucet with .5" Val

Open Question

I have leak at the top of tap fitting on our a monobloc mixer tap. It works by lifting (tilting back) a handle on the top and turning the handle to either the left or right to control the heat of the water. The problem is, when it is turned off it leaks from the top around the swivel part (i think). I have managed to unscrew the handle and remove the small grub screw which was hidden inside behind the handle, but problem i have now is removing the top to access the cartridge, it seems very difficult to disamantle, is there anything else holding this top in place? or is it just a matter of some brute force Also the cold pressure is very high,is there any adjustment that could be made? Any advice will be much appreciated.

SOURCE: my cold wter side leaks when i turn the handle to on position

Check the stem and make sure the stem nut that holds it to the tub is tight.

Remove handle and you will see it use a wrench or adjustable and make sure it is tight. Over time they will work loose sometimes.

If this doesn't take care of the leak. Turn water off remove stem and take it to a hardware store to match up and get a o-ring to fit it. Don't take it off the stem till you get one for it. Depending on stem some places may or may not have one.

If you can't find one at least you can put stem back in so you can still have water.

The o-ring on the stem's side seals it from leaking at handle base.

sounds like the o-rings inside the valve cartridge are bad. turn off valves and remove the cartridge and take it to your local hardware store or plumbing repair shop to match up and buy a new one.
this should solve your problem.

Top section is tilting forwards too far

If you lift the top section up you will see a screw, turn it a little in an anti-clockwise direction to reduce the tilt.

I cannot unlock the mixer to release the mixture in the bowl, suggestions?

I am guessing you have the type of mixer that the head tilts back on. I would suggest loosening the bowl by tapping the handle to undo it. I usually use the palm of my hand to tap it. I am guessing the mixture is quite thick and loosening the bowl should allow the head to lift. I am also guessing that the pin that holds the head to the body and acts as the hinge has slipped out of place. It should be equal on both sides of the mixer. If it isn't, knock it back into position then tighten up the screw under the base that holds it in position.

Can't attach ice cream maker dasher

If the bolt is the hinge pin that the head swivels on when tilting it up, it can be pushed back in when the head latch is released and the mixer head is lifted slightly.

The bowl fits too close to the mixing blade and has scraped some of the surface from the blade. I can not find the book

VLCMM: You don’t say if you have a ‘tilt-head’or a ‘bowl-lift' mixer, but you can easily download a PDF version of yourOwners Manual from the KA website (http://www.kitchenaid.com/flash.cmd?/#/page/home). Click on Customer Care>Locate Manuals& Guides> and enter the 6 character model number (in your case, use KSM90P)and select the last file listed that appear under Owners Manuals: KSM90PSWW0.pdf (2930.74 KB)and save that file to your PC. You’llneed to have Adobe Reader to be able to open it. Turn to Page 11 and you will find theinstructions for adjusting the mixer head height. I have extracted the instructions below:
Beater to Bowl Clearance
Your mixer is adjusted at the factory so that the flat beaterjust clears the bottom of the bowl. If for any reason, the flat beater hits thebottom of the bowl or is too far away from the bowl, clearance

Tilt-Head models
• Unplug mixer.
• Lift motor head.
1aa320c.jpg
• Turn screw (A) SLIGHTLY counter clockwise (left) to raise flat beater or clockwise (right) to lower flat beater.
• Make adjustment with flat beater, so it just clears surface ofbowl.
If you over adjust the screw, the bowl lock lever may not lockinto place.

Bowl-Lift models
• Unplug mixer.
• Place bowl lift handle in down position.

• Turn screw (B) SLIGHTLY counter clockwise (left) to raise flatbeater and clockwise (right) to lower flat beater.
•Make adjustments with flat beater, so it just clears surface ofbowl.

I hope this helps! –Howard, Burke, VA

Broken Tap

Are you talking about the ball with the small stick that your handle fits to? If so, yes, you can buy this part at many hardware stores. In fact, as long as you have the whole piece of any part of faucet that has broken, you should be able to buy a replacement.

Fitting monobloc kitchen diagram on pipe fittings

The tap should have 2 pipes about 6-10 inches long and almost the thickness of a maker pen {10mm or 15mm]
U will need either a 10-15 connection or a 15-15 connection either straight or elbowed according to routing need to main pipes [& these should also be 15mm
connections are fixed either with solder or have nuts on each end to tighten [compression] or are just push-on ["Speedfit"]
Ger back if u need more

My Hudson Reed lift and turn mono block tap leak

There should be a retaining ring right under the handle when removed. The stem of the ball runs up through the middle. Tighten this retaining ring and it should stop the leak.

Mixer won't tilt back

You may need to remove the head from the base to find the problem.  This is a simple procedure, and is easily reversed, so if it doesn't help you, you can just put it back and take it to a repair shop later.
To remove the head:

First, make sure to unplug the mixer unit!
Next, turn the unit upside down.  Inside the neck, you will see a screw.  Use a slotted screwdriver to loosen (turn counter-clockwise) the screw a few turns.  This will release the pivot pin on which the head swivels.
Push the pin out from one side using a long, slender implement (a screwdriver, pen, etc.).  With the pin removed, the head will lift off of the base, and you may be able to determine the problem from there.
Best of luck!
