Remove the ink cartridges as shown in your manual and take them to your local office supply store to either refill them of purchase new ones. If you're not too picky with the print quality, then I suggest having them refilled at the store...its also cheaper :)

I refilled ink cartridges but printer/computer think the ink has run out

This model Canon printer may only let you use genuine Canon/Epson printer cartridges. If you try to refill these ink cartridges it will not work because the Canon cartridges have an embedded chip in the cartridge that detects the empty cartridge even though it has been refilled.

Canon MP620 , full ink cartridge reads as " ink has run out" U041

The Canon printer may only use genuine ink cartridges which contain a chip so that you cannot fill the cartridge with ink or use non genuine ink cartridges.

CANON MP830 WILL NOT FAX OR SCAN IF ONE INK IS EMPTY

It's true, you need inks before you can scan or fax, It's not just Canon, All of the all in one machines are the same way. HP, Brother, Samsung, It's the drawback to having an all-in-one machine.

Ink has run out message

Ink not made for your printer has risks. 20 years as Canon rep taught me this. Yields: are affected by resolution, type of paper, condition of print head, condition of ink jets, all ink jets and lasers are mfg'd under lisence to Canon. You have the best! Anytime supplies are cheaper, something is left out. used cartridges usualy leak air and drip ink ck for stains under print head. cartridge has used blotter also drips. Cheaper cartridges contain less ink, no free lunch. Fill it yourself 1 or 2 times and do it right. Put the printer in your shower for twenty minutes if you see excess leaked ink. Allow to air dry for a few days then install new cartridges. Run all the Nozzle checks and print head utilities. Touch nothing else on the inside. This will fix it or f@#%k it up for good

Help me pls...

First of all to make your ink last longer you need to be using the Canon PG-40 and CL-41 instead of the Canon PG-30 and CL-31. The 40's are the higher capacity versions of the 30's. If you mean to ask why your color cartridge is going empty when you don't print much color, it is because when you print in black and white your printer mixes in some color with the black. There is no way to stop your printer from mixing color ink with the black.
