Toshiba 50hpx95 Plasma tv about a year and half old which means warrenty is out. There is a red blinking light on the front of the tv will not come on relays click when the tv is plugged in. All repair shops want it "brought in" and a deposit to tell me whats wrong with it. I have service manual and believe its a power supply issue. Where do I go from here?

I'm no TV expert, but I can share what little knowledge I have, specially what I went through with my plasma TV. It happen in mine, and I got the Y Board fix. When mine was blinking, there was no power, but it wasn't the power board, so searching for an answer in the internet, I found out that it could be one of the boards (Y board or Z board) In my case was the Y board, so I took it to a professional and he fix it for me. This tv have a Tuner signal board it is also dead too,this problems happen sometimes,the power supply board dies,but sometimes the Tuner signal board take power surges from the power supply board itself than kiill the tv Tuner signal board too.Try website like Ebay.com to buy a refurbish tv Tuner signal board for the replacement.Fixed this problems,many times before.Blinking power LED light.First replaced the power supply board,than didn't solved the problems,than the tv Tuner signal board it is also dies too.

A common problem with modern power supplies is dryed out capacitors in the power supply, This pulls down the voltage and shuts down the tv. The can usually be spotted if you know what to look for (they swell up and deform a little). It is not a job for the novice. But capacitors are cheap.

Turn off set, unplug power. Remove back cover. On brown circuit board left of center, unplug connector PJ63A. Plug in power, but don't electrocute yourself! If you no longer get the continuously blinking red light, hit the power button. If it comes on, the SEINE module is bad and must be replaced.

Bypass the SEINE module if you know how. If you use off air HD you will have to get a new module.

Ok you have sound and no picture. This denotes that since this is a plasma TV the circuitry that controls the activation of the screen may have become defective. You will need the schematic to show the voltage levels that need to be present on the cable that connects between the screen and the control circuit and a voltmeter to measure those voltages. I would suggest that you get a qualified TV technician to work on this problem, due to the technical nature of this issue.

This is an indication that there may be a problem in the power supply, possibly bad capacitors, and or defective active components. I would suggest first checking to see if there are any blown fuses, and or loose connections. Past this point I would advise that you either take the TV to a TV repair shop or have a TV technician troubleshoot the TV in home to determine the problem it is having.

I had the same problem. It turned out that one of the cooling fans get dusty and does not work. I opened the back of the Toshiba plasma TV and cleaned the failed fan, and it worked like a champ.
