The black bits are scum flaking off from between the inner & outer bowls, usually more common with cold water wash. Place old towel in washer, fill washer to high level with hot water, add washing soda & or vinegar, let washer run to end of wash cycle, turn off & let it soak for around an hour, turn back on & let it go through cycle. Commercial washing machine cleaning products should also be availably in your supermarket / hardware stores. You may need to repeat process until no more gunk comes out.

Cleaning Inglis washing machine IP41003.

Wonderful product on the market called "Affresh" comes in a tablet form. Place one tablet in the basket, and start the "hottest" and "longest" cycle and let it run. Be sure to leave the lid open or up when not in use, and be sure to keep that boot clean. The filter should be removed and cleaned "they say" every 3-5 months, but I tell my customers it depends on how you use and take care of the machine. If you forget to clean your pockets, get coins or pens, or use "smaller" items of clothes without a garment bag, then check more often. Also if you have small or very young children, check more often. Easy way to tell, pull out filter (watch for the water), and see whats in it. If it has a bunch of stuff, check it more often, nothing in it, maybe once a year.

Hi bob, have you tried cleaning the dispencer drawer that supplys the detergent to the tub? in some cases over time the detergent holder can collects small amounts of powder that can dry out and stick to the walls of the holder and when the machine is in its spinning stage can sometimes vibrate the dry powder in turn cause the powder to enter the tub also there can be a huge build up of liquid detergent like softners that can form a hard black residue in the holder in turn causing the clothes to collect black paticles. If all is ok then you could try applying a hot wash cycle without any clothes in the tub to flush the bowl from any contaminents, thumbs up if this helps thanks.

Remove lowwer rrear panel. locate and remove the large black hose fastened to bottom of drum, there should be a plastic filter inside the hose, if not, then filter is located at bottom front right of washer behind cover.

How do I get rid of the black mold on the door gasket?

If you take a bit of tilex mold/mildew spray and a rag, you should be able to remove it all.
Also , look down at the bottom of the front "gutter" just in front of the tub. There is a series of drain holes and clothes lint can build up a bit in here. take a towel and wipe the holes really clean . This will help keep the water draining out of the front and keep the moldy smell to a minimum.
One last thing, I've found with my front loader, that if I keep my wash loads to a medium full size instead of completely jammed full load size, the drain/mold issue is almost non-existent.
Hope this clean it all up for you!

Black Bits left in machine and on clothes after wash. have cleaned lint filter.

It sounds like you may have trash in your lines.
  1. I would turn the water supply off, and check the filter screens on the back of the washer.
  2. These screens are in the connections to the water solenoid on the back of the washer.
  3. Remove these screens, and flush.
  4. Replace screens.
  5. With these hoses off, turn the water on and flush the lines.
  6. Replace the hoses.
  7. Turn the water back on.

This should fix the problem.

Cleaning the machine. pipe???

are you using liquid detergent? this has the effect when used for long periods of making the machine smell like drains. if so, put on a boil wash with no clothes and revert to powder detergent. there is a filter which needs clearing if drain is slow.to access, remove bottom panel at back. filter is located in large pipe leading from tub to pump on the lhs. undo this pipe at the tub end and the filter is inside. some water will come out so be prepared. unplug from mains first
