Question about Compaq Computers & Internet
I'm trying to upgrade my father-in-laws compaq that's an antique. It's got a Mll 366 processor, socket 7. amd has a socket 7 as well as pentium but the amd is cheaper and I'm not putting any big money in it, he's giving it to his sister. The processor is a 250 MB and I wanted to get it higher if possible. Can you help???
Well, there is not many places where you can buy a CPU for that motherboard. Also, you state that the current CPU is 250 MB but I think you mean the system memory is 256 MB. Looks like your CPU is 366 MHZ. You best bet is to look for a Pentium 4 motherboard/CPU and memory combo on ebay. You can probably find a P4 1.6 MHZ for barebones system for under $50.
