Suzuki troubleshooting 2000 Suzuki Esteem about 123,000 miles. The headlights and other lights for night driving switch on of their own accord (While the car is not running.) I cannot switch off the lights except to run the windshield wipers on high for about 30 seconds. Within a minute of the lights off, they switch on again. I just had the 'switch" for lights and and windshield wiper assembly replaced. The problem persists.

Have you checked all fuses for the cooling fans? Seems to be that the car is warming up to temp and then some, and protecting itself from overheating by shutting down the engine.

check all relays .. relays after getting hot will shut off what ever they run.. so check them closely .. they are in your power distribution box under the hood and the lid usually has a diagram of which is which.. Relays are good at cooling off and working right a while too so look these over . or change the ones you think are the right one.. thanks Jerry

Sounds like the PARK SWITCH within the WIPER MOTOR is at fault, Only way to beat it is relay the motor. Hope this helps

Try replacing relay for wiper with another same relay from fuse block from another working accessory.Had same issue on friends Ford Ranger. Moved relays and cleaned harness connection at fuse block. Works fine.
