How do you remove the drain plug for the dishwasher drain in a new ACE garbage disposal?

I think (not sure) I removed the plastic knock out. However, I think it is block inside. Water from dishwasher spilled out from the top of the sink. I took the hose off from the disposal, It seems like it is block by something like a round metal (kind of shiny with a flash light) about 1/2" dia. and maybe an inch recess inside the port (opening). Is that the knockout I supposed to knock it out?

The plug is thin plastic. Use a flat blade screw driver and a hammer to knock it out. I know this sounds primitive but this is how it is done. I have been a plumber for thirty years.

My drain plug was oriented in a way that I couldn't swing a hammer to knock the plug out. I ended up going with a 3/8ths inch drill bit and went through without a problem.

Dishwasher not draining completely after new garbage disposal installed

If you hooked up the drain to the disposal directly there is no vent in the line. Use the air vent on the sink to connect the dishwasher drain hose. If there is no air vent, then you'll have to install one in the sink.

We just replaced our garbage disposal and now the dishwasher won't drain. I order a drain pump and it still won't drain.

Make sure that the air clear on top of the sink is clean and clear all the way through. Sometimes in replacement silt and other garbage clog this up and keep it allowing water to drain properly.

I would like to know where is the plug for dihwasherdrain plug located ot he garbage disposal

It's not guaranteed that your particular model will have a dishwasher drain nipple, but it does, it'll be on the side, near the top of the machine. If the disposer is new you must knock out the plug inside the nipple before connecting a dishwasher. If the disposer doesn't have a nipple, you can get a piece of pipe to fit to the non-disposer side of the sink where you can connect the dishwasher drain hose.

Are you talking about the "barbed attachment" on the disposal? If so, simply use a screwdriver and hammer to knock it out. Make sure you reach into the disposal (through the sink) to get this piece of plastic out after. Good luck
