Do you have a speaker hooked up to the motherboard ? Please hook one up and let me know how many and the length of the beeps you get on startup...

Do you have the Motherboard Manual for your Asus CUV4X? If not, here is the PDF version that you can download,
http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us
On this page go up to the left corner. Under the Download heading, you will see -> Input Model to Search <- in a box
Put your mouse cursor in this box. The box will blank out. Left-click one time. Keep your mouse cursor in the box. Now type -> CUV4X

In the box underneath, where it states -> Select Category <-, left-click one time on the blue down arrow, to the right of it. Now click on -> Manuals.

On this page, click on -> CUV4X

Now click on your O/S (Operating System) I chose Win2K. Doesn't really matter, but I chose the newest Windows version they had at the time.
(Click on the blue down arrow, to the right of the -> Select an OS <- box)

On the next page if it's not opened up already, go down and click on the -> + sign next to -> Manual

Now go down to the heading -> Version E537 <-
in blue, and under this click on -> Global
(If something happens that it doesn't download using Global, you can click on China, instead. It's still in English)

You may not see anything happening for up to 30 seconds. Depends on the network traffic when you download. I downloaded it just now, and the first page popped up in 5 seconds. Took another 12 seconds to fully download. I use a medium speed DSL connection, and Adobe Reader 9.1
(Adobe Reader is on your computer. It uses PDF files)

WAIT, until the file has Fully downloaded, before looking through it. If you want to save a copy to your computer, so that you can look at it anytime you want, and also so that you can burn a copy off to CD disk, do this,

Go up to the top header, and left-click on the Floppy Disk icon. It is the second icon from the left. Hovering your mouse cursor over it, will briefly reveal, "Click to save this to your computer or another location"

After you click on it, a small window will come up.
Save a copy..
Unless you feel like looking for -> cuv4x-102.pdf <- on your computer, and on a saved CD disk, you may want to do this,

At the bottom of this small window is -> File name: , and a box to the right of it. cuv4x-102.pdf
will be in the box, and highlighted in blue.
Put your mouse cursor, right after the -> f <- in .pdf, and left-click twice.
Make one space with your space bar. Now type -> Asus CUV4X Motherboard Manual

Here's a list of Intel Pentium III Microprocessors,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_Pentium_III_microprocessors

Why all this information? Because looking at the motherboard manual, it states 800MHz is the fastest Frequency Rate that it will use for a processor.
(Page 21)

The Intel Pentium III 1400S operates at 1400MHz, (1.4GHz), has 512KB of L2 cache, and a 133MHz
Front Side Bus. (FSB)

You're welcome for the info. If you look at the List of Pentium III Microprocessors, on the Wikipedia.org, link I gave you, you can find a compatible Pentium III processor.

Would appreciate it if you would rate my solution.

ASUS CUSI-M ACPI BIOS Revision 1007 run very slow when i wana use 1024 by 768 pixel.how i can solve this problem.my processor speed is 700 MHz. 2.is it possible AMD 1.3 processor connect with this...

Getting you're system to display 1024 x 768 resolution depends on the graphics card. If you’re using the onboard VGA you will have poor display.
Suggest you use a PCI (White slot) graphics card with its own memory onboard. You will also need to make a bios setting change so the system boots to the PCI card and not the VGA.
Asus no longer provides support for this MB including drivers and bios.
You're board also supports slot A (For AMD), processors.
Only Intel Celeron and Intel Pentium III. Socket 370
see link provided;
http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-ASUS/CUSI-M.html
Max CPU supported (With out over clocking);
http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Celeron/Intel-Celeron%201100%20-%20RB80526RY005128%20(BX80526F1100128).html
In order to run this CPU you would need to update the bios to rev 1009. You'll find rev 1009 at the next link; http://www.userdrivers.com/BIOS/Asus-CUSI-M-BIOS-1009-With-LAN/
From what I've read it is possible to Get an AMD slot A CPU into a socket 370 MB. (Don't hold me to this though. This is a first for an old dog.
Any one of these PCI graphics cards should function on you're MB; http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Category/guidedSearch.asp?CatId=28&sel=Detail;55_158_2872_2872

Good luck!

Replacing Asus CUV4x Motherboard with Asus p5vd2-vm-se motherboard? I have my old computer that i want to replace with new set of motherboard. My old computer has the following specification: Asus CUV4x...

Hi eibral2345, sorry but there is no chance the motherboard, Asus P5VD2-VM-SE will run the Samsung memory. It’s the old style 3.3V PC133/100 SDRAM. The new Asus motherboard,
P5VD2-VM-SE uses Single-Channel DDR2 - 667MNz or 533MHz memory. Here is a link to the specs of the Asus CUV4X: http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleid=314&page=3
Here are the specs for the Asus P5VD2-VM-SE MB: http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?modelmenu=2&model=1787&l1=3&l2=11&l3=369&l4=0

Will the new Asus board fit in your case? It should!
The larger measurement is the height of the board.
The Height + Width of the new board is smaller than the older board.

Have more questions?
Good luck eibral2345!
