The lamp thermister has bad connections at it plug. this is a common problem with this set. the easiest way is to remove the thermister and solder the wires together without the plug. some of them had short leads and you will have to add a small length of wire so it will reach to mount it back.

Tv comes on then turns itself off

Sounds like the projection bulb is heating up then it shuts off for safety reasons. If you can locate the bulb, there is most likely a screen (wire mesh) that traps dust when the fan is on to cool the bulb. Try cleaning this screen and see if it helps. It could be already too late and you might have to replace the bulb.

Light stays on

Check the door frame for a protruding small lever that gets pushed down when the door closes. If one is visible, that should be the light switch, which probably went bad and needs to be replaced. Without a model # hard to say how the light are set to go off, but most use the above method, hope this helps.

Mitsubishi TV, WD 60735; TV shuts off shortly after powering up.

It could be but a couple of other possible reasons---they had problems with this set and its brothers with caps in the main power supply puffing up and causing this "hard to turn on" issue.

A second reason is dust/dirt inside the unit.

All air is coming in via the front of the set and exits the rear--enough dust gets inside and the fans slow down or the lamp gets too hot and set shuts down---don't try this in the house: we take them with back cover off outside the building (on a ramp) and with air clean them out completely--try not to blow it inside the screen. It looks like a dust storm in most cases but can cause exactly the problem you have.

Red light flashing screen is green turn off itself

your color wheel/ color main bored has gone bad (red flashing indictating one of 3 things depending on flashing. no power to main board. or to much power/bad board on one of the color boards) or you just need to replace the bulb in it. i doubt its a bulb issue bc you do see a greenness to it at first. but *** will auto shut down till the board is fixed. sorry for the bad news but this is your solution. . if you can tell me what model the tv is i cna find out exactly what it is and how many flashes.

Mistub XD450. Bulb relatively new. Projector

Does the projector work normally when sitting right-side up? If yes, something could be interfering when the unit is inverted. The symptom you describe initially sounds like a defective fan (some fans put out a computer pulse telling the main board it's running--they have 3 wires, red, black, yellow(signal)). If the board doesn't get signals from all required components, it's programmed to shut down to protect itself.

My Samsung DLP rear-projection TV has had a very dim picture for months. We have replaced the lamp once already.

How long ago was lamp replaced, also you can try cleaning dust off the lamp. Dust builds up on it and causes pre mature failure. Also moving the TV around can cause the bulb to fail after extended use. The bulb are only as good as any other regular bulb. They start taking longer to warm up then dont get as bright then fail totally. Some Tv's wont allow itself to turn on in some of those states.

My 50 Viore dlp tv turns itself off after just a

HI, this may be a simple cooling issue. try inspecting the cooling fans that are located near the power sector. if these cooling devices are not operational, they will cause the power board to shut down periodically, due to heat build up.

If the fans are operational, this will confirm a weak and defective power power board.

Screen TV shuts down

Sounds like an electronic part (a resistor, a diode, etc) that stops conducting electricity when it heats up to a certain point. Maybe it physically loses contact on its circuit board due to a bad solder, or the part itself is internally defective. Unfortuantely you'll need an expensive professional repairman to diagnose it. TVs have high voltages, ya know, and can kill you if you go mucking around inside.
