In most cases, this is a problem with the inverter or a bad magnetron.

Due to the lethal voltages used and produced, I do not recommend that an inexperienced person work on these.

I would recommend that you contact your nearest Panasonic-authorized servicer. You can find one here:

I have a Panasonci NN-SD686S and after a power cut last night, the microwave is now in demo mode. After power cuts previously this has never happened, and I can't find anything in my manual to...

To set Demonstration Mode: press micro power once, then press Stop/Cancel 4 times. To cancel Demonstration Mode press Micro power once, then press Stop/Cancel 4 times.

When power went off and then came back on, screen on micro wave continually shows demo and I cannot set time

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for about 5 minutes and try again.

If it still won't work, then you may have a bad membrane keypad / DP circuit.

If your model is NN-P295SF, the service is here.

Parts can be ordered from Encompass here.

Micro Wave shuts down

If it stops after 22 seconds, that means the controller has detected a problem, usually a problem with the inverter or a bad magnetron.

Due to the lethal voltages used and produced, I do not recommend that an inexperienced person work on these.

You can find an authorized Panasonic servicer here.
