Phillips tv 32pw9544

I have a phillips tv model 32PW9544/05M, i brought 2nd hand a few months ago, tv was working perfect until a month ago when the colour seemed to go on the screen. Have lost no sound, but the picture has gone very dark+ red. I was thinking it might be the colour tube? any ideas much appreciated.

It is 100% sure that your tube is ok.

there are few problems in different section like

  • sound section for no sound
  • video & crt base  due to low light in picture.
  • red video output circuit.
  • though problems are very easy & can be fixed at your house.but you need skilled technician.

The first possibility is that the new remote control is a dud out of the box. It can happen. Another possibility is that the remote sensor in the TV has failed. Then the remote is transmitting, but it's not being picked up by the TV. (The lights are on but there's nobody home.) If you can, return the new remote to the store and exchange it. Then, if the set still doesn't respond, you'll need to replace the remote sensor.

Phillips hd tv. model # 46pp9302/17f We lost

It is possible that your tuner module has some dry solder/weak joints that is causing the fault. Open as before and look into the board very carefully to see if there is any weak spot. Use a good solderring iron to touch up all the suspect areas but be very careful and do not try this if not familiar to solder as it might turn serious. Hence you can ask an electronic technician to check on this and solder up the chroma/processing stages and reset. If this does not solve the issue , the fault could be failure of the concerned IC. Confirm and replace carefully. Hope you get this right.Good day

Can you try a non-working box in the Thompson box's location in the lounge? If you swap the boxes in the lounge and they both work normally then you must suspect that the cable supplying the conservatory must be the problem.

This is a common problem with the older models. The opt chip fails. You can get a repair kit at After a few months of getting smaller and smaller the audio and video will go out but the power light will remain lit.
