Question about Toshiba Satellite A20-S259 Notebook
Fun stuff! You have to remove the Power Button Panel, then remove one keyboard screw, securing the keyboard, and now you have access to the ram memory.
However! All is not That Bad! It really isn't that hard to do, plus I have a link to Toshiba Support, and a download page for the User Guide in PDF file form!
Has detailed instructions, and illustrations.
I would like you to go to Toshiba Support, and the download page I referred to above,
On this page Left-click on -> Download Now
in the rectangular red box.
Give it a second, and a small window will come up. Left-click on -> Save File
A WinZip window comes up, click on Unzip.
The next thing is that the WinZip Extractor will fill your entire monitor screen. It advises you to not
touch anything, while it is working!
Takes about 2 seconds or so.
This should go to your desktop screen. It is an online guide. It's hard to describe the icon for it, but you'll definitely know it when you see it!
(Looks sort of like a Christmas star ornament)
When you see it, double-click on it.
In this PDF Users Guide, Page 67 is the start of how to remove and add ram memory.
A few tips:
1.The laptop needs to be off, and not in Standby or Hibernate. AC adapter removed, (Charger), and battery removed. Advise work on a table. A bed, a couch, and directly on a carpet floor, contains Static. Static will silently fry out your delicate computer components!
2.When installing ram, make sure that if you install just one ram module, that you install it in Slot A. Just one ram module in Slot B will Not work!
(Ram module slang term is 'ram stick')
