I ran into this problem due to a serious virus infection prior to installing AVG. While the computer was infected I tried installing AVG at which time the virus prevented proper installation. After removal of the virus with various tools, I attempted installing AVG again which failed again.
All I had to do is unintall the previous failed installation, restart the computer and install again.
AVG installed and now works fine on the system.
Hope this helps.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
