Question about Mitsubishi WS-73905 73" Rear Projection Television
Just bought the used TV mentioned above. I tried a bunch of universal remote with no luck. Then bought a remote online from NRI, which they said should work. It did nothing. Any suggestions on what to do. Afraid sensor maybe bad on the TV or something. I know there is a chance the remote NRI sent me that has BRMI1 on the back is not a match. They mentioned that it was not the original remote, but it was not a universal and should work. They called it the best replacement. I put a bunch of different baterries in but never could get any lights or anything on the remote to do anything so I am guessing it is a bad remote they sent or my tv sensor is bad. Any thoughts on this.
You could always download a universal remote app from Google Play that should work. Hope this helps you

Good Day, cutito35; 1. This model is equipped with a keyboard lock feature; this can be mistaken as a no power condition. To unlock the keyboard press and hold the "menu" button on the front panel for 10 seconds. 2. (Power LED may be on after plug in) check for no less than 4.4 volts DC at pin 3 of PC9A21 on the Power PCB, if low or missing replace PC9A21 part # 268P058020. 2.This model is also equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the input and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times. 1 - 2 = no error detected 2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current) 2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies) 2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection) 2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source) 1. Shutdown at power with self diagnosis error 2-2. Check for open fuses F9A04 and F9A05 part # 283P144080 on the +24 and -24 volt lines. If the fuses are open the convergence output circuit would be suspect. 2. Shutdown at power with self diagnosis error 2-1. At power on check for 12-volts DC at connector KH pin 8, if missing check IC9C51 part # 270P990010 and L9C52 part # 441D009020 on the Signal PCB. Good Luck, big IRISH.

You should re-consider having a tech do that for you. The access is by removing the screen assmbly which are somewhat fragile. If you want to give it a try, pull the speaker grill off, it comes off just from pulling it, there should be five screws across the bottom of the screen assy, remove those, there is also an access door on the front of the set with four screws, that has to be removed to unplug the cable that goes to the screen sensors. The screen assy has to be lifted straight up an inch or two and then you can pull it forward away from the set.
As far as cleaning the mirror and lenses, you can't get to the face of the tubes so it's the top of the lenses that you clean, just use a soft lint free cloth (cloth baby diaper) and wipe the dust off the lenses, you can slightly dampen the cloth with water if necessary, same type of cloth on the mirror and you can use a glass cleaner on it just don't press too hard on the mirror.
