yes it does spin but not at top speed -

and yes sometimes it does completely spin out water

at top speed, but most of the time I have to ring out clothes

or put the washer on spin cycle again and again.

The size of wash does not matter either.

And I manually help the spin go faster by reaching

into the washer and pushing the tub.

It sounds like there is a sock or piece of clothing stuck in between the inner and outer drum.Reach under and around the splash guard when you open the lid.Hope you can reach it from there if not it may have gottin further in and you may have to remove the inner tub.To do that you will have to take the washer all apart if you need i will try to walk you true hope this helped:)

Kenmore Series 70 Top Loading Washing Machine Model # 110.20722991 Serial# CL 1134809 Hello, Our washing machine is leaving our clothes soaking wet when finished. What could the problem be?

2 things are possible. Can you tell if the spin cycle is engaging? If the spin cycle is not engaging properly or very fast, then the water will not leave the clothes. less likely is that the machine is not draining the water away properly or fast enough.

All cycles work but clothes come out wet, top loader model# AAV7000AWW is there a lint trap that needs cleaning?

Lint traps are in dryers, not washers If clothes still come out wet then perhaps the water pump is not working properly and/or the drum is not spinning fast enough to allow centrifugal force to remove water from clothes.

Clothes too damp after spin cycle

Front loading washers are notorious for not spinning the water out of a small load of clothes. This is because there is not enough clothes in the washer to balance the tub during the spin cycle.

Try washing a slightly larger load with a minimum of six items or more. This is one of the downsides to front load models and no specific brand is immune to the problem.

Your transmission is starting to go bad. It is not creating enough power to spin the clothes fast enough to dry them. It is cheaper to look for a new washer . To fix the transmission will cost you over 400 I would do light loads until your able to get a new washer

In the permanent press cycle only the spin cycle isn't spinning enough. Clothes are extremely wet must run another spin to get out the water.

Thts right....the permanent press cycle my only spin at 600rpm because the clothes would be creased otherwise. Hence the PP cycle.
Some machines lock the PP cycle to low spin RPM. Some allow you to over ride this setting. Check your machine and have a play with the controls. Some PP clothing should even be drip dry to retain the premanent press in the garment. If you want PP then low spin is needed. fast spin will not be a PP cycle...

Wet clothes at end of spin cycle

sounds like your transmission is not working properly. check your warranty information. (should be in your owners manual) many of the whirlpool made top loaders came with a 5 year warranty on the transmission/gear case

Kenmore 90 Series, clothes wet after spin

First thing you need to check is the speed of the spin cycle. As long as you are not overloading the machine, it should spin the clothes pretty dry. the basket drive may need to be replaced. If it is spinning very fast, then check the drain hose, make sure the water is coming out nice and fast. If not you may have a water pump problem even lint clogged inside it.
