Question about Galaxy Radios DX-95T Base CB Radio

Ranger 6900f-25 has no output

Ranger 6900f-25 receives fine bit has only about a needle's width of Am carrier and a very slight swing of SSB modulation with a loud whistle. Finals, driver, predriver, diodes at the final and driver and the audio chip have been replaced. The voltages at the test points 7,8,and 9 are not awhat they should be according to the service manual. Any ideas?

    The fellow who bought the radio says the guy he got it from said it was working fine and then just stopped transmitting. The fellow who bought it tried to get it transmitting by replacing those parts mentioned in the last post. I just took some measurements for him as he does not have a meter.

Either the transmitter is grossly out of alignment or one or more of the new parts are already defective.
power = voltage X current. it's usually what happens when someone attempts to repair a piece of equipment like this by "swapping parts" while not in posession of the necessary test equipment and technical expertise.

Instructions

Connect one end of your coaxial cable to the output port on your SSB Transmitter. Connect the other end of the cable to the coaxial input port on your RF demodulator.

WHEN U KEY UP IT WONT TALK


Do you have receive? If so you might have blew the voice chip. If you don't have receive or transmit you most likely blew those final transistors.

Lack of receive on a ranger 2950


Bad mic? dirty mic pins? If the mic is bad, you will have no receive.

When i key up yhe mike i get a red light at the tx/rx. what does this mean ?

I suspect however, that the absence of the green LED, the red probably is a warning about excessive VSWR which can damage the output section of the radio; you need a better antenna match.

Mannix, I have not checked skip conditions lately, but the last time I looked skip was not rolling at all so I'd be surprised to hear any australia,,,,,, Mechanic

I know the recieve adjustments are ( and make sure you adjust in this order )L9,L11,L12,L13,L14,L4,L3,L5,L6.Adjust them for highest recieve you may have to go through them a couple of times.And again do them in the order I gave you.VERY IMPORTANT!!! Good Luck
