Question about Toshiba Satellite A105-S4164 Notebook
Toshiba A105-S4164. Replaced the HDD and now it won't boot from the recovery CD. It says it is verifying the hardware and then never does anything more. The CD quits spinning and the laptop sits with a blank screen. If I remove the HDD then it will boot the CD as far as possible without it, goes as far as trying to create a partition then fails (which makes cents). Did I get a bad HDD? I went from an 80Gb to a 120Gb WD1200bevs. Any ideas? Thanks
If it hangs with the new hard drive installed and doesn't without it hooked up then definitely the new hard drive is bad. Return it and get another one.
