got it, it just fired up, got a little cold here in Chicago suburbs, a few weeks ago I tried to start the A/C, Goodman also, that was installed last year, i think that the compressor kicked on out side, I know the cooling fan did, but the return pipe never did get cold 9 low pressure is the bigger pipe I think , right?) worked fine all last summer. could the open high also affect the A/c?

Check for a reset able round limit switch in the burner area if fires up make sure filters are clean and no signs of flame roll-out in the burner area when fan comes on this furnace should still have mfg parts warranty left

Goodman # GMS81155CNA light blinks 4 times - furnance won't light and blower runs all the time - it's cold - please help

Hi,
The 4 blinks means that the high limit switch or the regular limit switch are tripped... try to find the high limit switch... it is usually near the blower...there will be a red reset button in the center of it... push it in and the unit should work again...
if the regular limit switch is kicked you may have to replace it for the unit to work again...
This often happens after a power failure if the unit was running at the time of the failure. If you did not have a power failure, then find out why the limit switch kick out...

Here is a tip that will help you try to figure out why yourfurnace is not working.

Tstat calls for heat, inducer motor comes on, ignitior glows red, gas valve opens, burners light for 5 or so seconds then go out, main blower will come on after first failure and continue to run, unit...

Hi,

You are on the right track. I would suggest you change the sensor though as if it has failed it would be one of the reasons why it is shutting down the way it is as it cannot detect the flame and is closing the solenoid.

Hope this helps,

Best regards,

Its brand new never run and the fan turns on and flashes 4 red lights and it never tries to start

Hi,
You need to check the limit switches with a meter...
What you are getting there is a classic lock out condition from an open limit switch....there could be two or three limit switches depending on make and model that you have there...
Something is open in the safety circuit...

My furnace blows cold air constantly even in heat mode. It's led light flashes 4 times in a set, what could it be?

On Goodman furnaces, 4 flashes usually means open high limit. Look for any burnt or loose wires or any resettable limits, they should have a red button that clicks when you push on it and wire going in and out of it with spade clips. If the open limit is not resettable, jump it out to verify its open and if that fixes the problem, replace the defective limit. Best of luck.

Blower speed too fast

The furnace should be a 3 or 4 speed motor in it. On the circuit board there are places maked heat and cool. If you are looking for low the red wire should be plugged into the heat designation. make sure unit is unplugged before changing

Model GMP100-5-REVA

You could have a limit switch that opened. On the reverse side of the furnace access panel there will be a diagnostic chart indicating what 4 flashes indicate. If it is an open circuit, why is it open? Did the unit get too hot and why? Unless you have the diagnostic capabilities, call a professional.
