Pink screen After a year and a hlaf of owning the 50v500. I have the pink screen problem but it comes and goes, sometimes for 5 minutes, sometimes alot longer

I have a pink blotch area about 1/4 the size of my screen. Any picture within that area is distorted. Outside of that area appears fine. I called Hitachi and was told that they would not help out on a TV that was 4 years old. Another shop told me to replace the light engine was somewhere around $1000. Hitachi told me to call Sears, which did not sound like a real good answer to me.

  2. On the front control panel, press and hold the INPUT button.
  3. Then press the POWER button for two seconds.
    • You may keep the INPUT button depressed until you see the OSD with the Service Menu displayed.
    • If you don't see the service menu, please repeat Process making sure you wait until the Power blinking LED stops.

My sony dsc wx9 has a pink screen. One minute it worked fine, I set it down for one minute, picked it up to use and the screen was pink.

Tap the screen next time it goes pink, see if it changes, you may have a bad viewfinder LCD panel.

Pink cloud covering most of the screen

If the pink spot appears as mostly a circle in the middle if the screen then a light engine is needed. If it is an even coverage than possibly just a memory initilization needed by a technician.
