Question about Biostar GF7100P-M7S Motherboard - v6.0, NVIDIA GeForce 7100, Socket 775, MicroATX, Audio, Video, DVI

1 Answer

No video display

Hello,

I just got my biostar tforce tf720 a2+ amd+ motherboard and installed it. It was to replace my fried psu and mobo because of a power surge. I turn on the switch and everything is working perfectly, but there is no video display(if there is, its a black screen). I tried all the video ports, but all I get is a black screen. I've tested two video cards and all I get is a black screen. The mobo came in an open box with no manual, so I did everything to my best knowledge. Is the mobo defective? Or did I miss something?

Hello mr,carrera :) ...

i think u have only two choices u have to do :

1: you disconnect the power cable from you PSU , then reset the BIOS using the jumper pre-installed on your board , check the manual for this " Clear CMOS " ,,

then try again , if not then

2: u will have to replace your bios with an updated one of the exact motherboard model , you can do this easily cause Biostar have the socket of Bios ,not mounted in the motherboard ,,,

so, i am pretty sure that its a bios issue , like 95% ,,,,
the 5% u don't wanna know it ,,,,( Bad PSU might affected the power ct. of your Board :( ,,,, but try Bios 1st....

Need Ep 9gf6100-M drivers pLz help!

Hello try the drivers here from biostar:

http://www.biostar-usa.com/mbdownloads.asp?model=TFORCE%206100-939

The drivers should match your mainboard.

But do not install the 64 bit driver unless you run this system.

You maybe have to unzip the file before you install.

Here is others with the same chipset:

Can a Biostar NF61S MICRO AM2 SE (NF61MICROAM2SE) Motherboard run a AMD dual core X2 7750 2.7

Hello look here for the cpu list:

http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/introduction.php?S_ID=23#cpu

Try also to look in the manual.

I think it will fit, but you probably have to upgrade the bios, to support the new cpu.

Good luck

Black screen on boot on biostar mcp6p m2+

That board has a built in video card if I have the right info. If you are using an external video ie plug in card then you need to make sure the onboard video is disabled or that the plug in card is designated as the main video card. Not doing either of those will cause the black screen.

Ms7241 mobo no post no display

I'm just going to post some stuff, and you see what you may think may help.

1.I hope you observed the anti-static guidelines, or you have silently toasted your delicate computer components. Static will silently fry them out. You won't see it or feel it.

(Reseated CPU? Static will fry that thing out F-A-S-T! Didn't clean the top of the CPU, and the bottom of the heatsink, and apply new thermal paste? CPU is fried. Takes about 10 minutes or so for an Intel. Takes about 20 to 30 seconds for an AMD!)
2.Floppy drive has no power? It attaches straight to the PSU. Either it is bad, or the PSU. Even if you swapped PSU's, it doesn't mean the one you installed is good.
If the PSU has a weak voltage rail, it won't give enough wattage to the processor.

A.ALL the lights use less than 1 watt.
B.EACH fan uses 2 to 3 Watts.
C.A harddrive sitting there spinning, because there is no processor to tell it what to do, uses about 2 to 3 Watts. (Read on)
D.When BIOS tries to turn the processor on, it can't. Why? Because processors use anywhere from 55 watts to 125 watts. Depends on the processor. If the PSU has a weak voltage rail, the processor won't turn on.
