I need to restore my eMachine back to it's original state

So my eMachine did not come with the CD and I would realllllly like to get it back to the way it was when I first bought this computer. It was already installed when it was bought so I didn't set it up myself. I did find a program on my computer called eMachines Recovery Management, and I think that might just be the thing I need.Since I'm not sure about it, I think it's safer to get an answer from others.

The real problem is: I need to restore my eMachine back to it's original state WITHOUT the CD, and all I have is eMachines Recovery Management but am clueless about what to do with it.

Look in the erecovery management software and there should be an option to allow you to create a set of factory restore cd;s. You'll need either blank dvd's or blank cd's to make them.

Emachine 3653 factory restore

You can use the Restore CD that came with the computer. The eMachines restore disk sets your PC back to factory settings with the original operating system and programs that were shipped with the computer. Doing so resolves many problems that can arise from long-term computer use, viruses, or the operating system slowing down.

1. To do a factory restore insert the restore CD then reboot the computer. When prompted, press any key to boot from the CD.

2. Select the option to "Reformat the drive to factory settings."

3. Follow the on-screen instructions to reinstall the operating system and original software that came with your computer.

4. Once the Restore finishes, you can re-install all the programs that you added to the computer as well as restore your files.

Reminder: Reformatting your computer erases all of your installed programs, personal documents, pictures and music. If you have the ability to, back up all of your personal data using a removable flash drive, external hard drive or DVDs before doing a Factory Restore.

When i use the recovery cd for emachine w6409 it hang's up on wild tangent games. ital-ed for 2 hours

Fortunately you don't need wild tangent games for your PC to run correctly, Your restore CD should have options for either installing or NOT installing bundled software, choose that if possible or find a CD with a matching operating system and use that to install. You will need to have your CD-Key from the back of the Emachine handy. Don't worry, your PC will still pass verification and activation as long as you use your original license key.

After reinstallion, no emachines recovery/original programs/apps

Your recovery software is usually comprised of more than one disk. You should have one windows disk in addition to the eMachines disk(s). Complete recovery requires that you use all the disks, in order to return to original state. If you are missing programs, it is because you did not use all the disks.

Option A: Go here to order a complete set of recovery disks:

https://secure.tx.acer.com/RCDB/Main.aspx?brand=emachines

You will need your machine serial number to ensure you obtain the correct recovery disks; they are about 20$ plus shipping.

Option B: Use your eRecovery: Restart the computer and when it begins booting up, you have to hit repeatedly/hold down a key to enter the Recovery management menu. As for the key, it varies from manufacturer to manufacturer, but try the F10 key for starters. If it's not that one, try the F12, or the F8 key. That should get you pointed in the right direction. Just follow the screen prompts, and choose RECOVERY, not RESTORE. Also make sure you choose Recovery without disks.

Reply if you need more help.

Hope this helps.

How do I return our Dimension 5100 Dell Desktop back to it's original state? Lost the recovery CD.

Have you tried restoring your operating system to a previous restore point?
To do this click on start- all programs - accessories - system tools - system restore. Then choose a date from the calendar which corresponds to a time before you began to experience problems on your PC. Follow the on-screen instructions to restore your PC to its original state.
Note that a system restore will remove any programs which were installed AFTER the selected restore point date.
Hope this helps.

Do I need windows xp disc to reinstall?

To format your hard-drive then re-install Windows? Yes, you would need one.

If you're attempting to rid yourself of a virus, you can definitely attempt a system restore. However, most modern viruses are smart, and the first thing they will do is integrate themselves into the system restore files. If however you have a system-restore disk (CD-ROM) which came with the computer, those will obviously not be infected (nor will they be infected) and can be used to restore the system to the state it was in when you first turned it on.

Let me know if I can help you further.

I need to reformat my emachines m2350.

Hello,

If you want to restore the machine to factory state I would suggest using the restore disk that came with it originally.

You possibly will need to go into your particular bios and set the boot option to start with the cd and then save and restart with the first cd in the drive. From that point you will need to follow on screen prompts to start the restore.

If you do not have the Cd's you can contact Emachines to order a replacement. You can contact them with the information below:

Telephone Technical Support
Customer care representatives are available 5 AM to 12 midnight PT seven days a week.
United States 408-273-0888*
Canada 604-637-1419*

They also have a chat option available from https://support.gateway.com/Support/copilot/en/us/chat_us_em_tech.asp

Thanks and remember to rate this solution.

Usb 1 is not very slow, maybe computer system is busy doing some other services which is unknown to you.

if you plan to restore computer back to original state. you should back up first the important files(personal files any files that is important to you.)

system restore is not quite good except , you have an original windows system cd enclosed in your computer. doing this; insert cd and boot the computer using the cd.

If non of those; then you should provide windows cd and reinstall your windows: doing this; insert cd and boot the computer using the cd.

just follow the onscreen instructions.

some drivers of your computer notify me with the brand , model, motherboard details. if in case.
